Nah cheapo Heng long. Chinese quality control is an oxymoron . Hell I could buy a car for the price of the Tamiya.

Fitted metal gearboxes & tracks , red dot laser sight housing fitted - just need to pop diode in and light switch to turn off headlamps. Repaired smoke unit- none of the HL ones seem to work out of the factory.

Just used a bottom of the range Badger 250 (after returning a faulty Revell airbrush).

Used enamels on metal parts and rest acryllic, though mixed a little builders PVA in basecoat for a better bond to the cheap Chinese plastic.

"Ambush " camo was pretty widely used , from what I found online could be Kursk. I think to be accurate for Italy I'd need the later roadwheels (all metal, and no outer set)

My skills with models are pretty much akin to my use of photoshop.... bright and bold

Really nice job, good details on the commander too. Love to see a pic with the lights on when you get a chance. Used to be huge into modeling in the early teen years. Wish I could get back into it.

wow thats a great model. Used to love make Airplans during my teens. Was big into the Prince August Fantasy sets as well.
You cast your own models then paint them. When you get fed up you can recast them.

Man I remember those Eamon, I always wanted to get into them but my Mother wouldn't let me because she thought I'd burn the house down (she was probably right). But I found you could re-cast Airfix action figures just as well with a can off lighter fluid acting as a flame thrower. Or I'd make planes, stuff the inside with cotton wool and these little gel packs of Zippo lighter fluid you could buy for 10p; then we'd go up to my sisters bed room window, light the fuse and peg the plane out of the top window they would glide for a bit and the explode. We got through scads of my big brothers planes that way. The down side we got a kicking from Jim & when Mam found the garden covered with bit's of planes she clobbered the daylights out off as well . Ah to be young again.

funny you mention that...my mother was the same. closest I came was having the molten metal too hot and making a model explode.

My brother and I requisitioned my little sisters HUGE stuffed bunny, jammed it in my father's old Air Force fatigues, then hung it by the neck from a power pole in the alley.
