War Medal
Hey guys, been a while!
If you could decipher it... its me Spitz!
Flashback!
I miss you guys
Hope you've all been keeping well and been careful in my absence?
To business,
Unfortunatley I lost my grandad recently, I've been left his medal and RAF tie and I thought I'd share them with people who may be interested.
He was an RAF Chef and was awarded the war medal also pictured is his tie and the certificate award:
I hadn't seen one before and thought maybe some other hadn't either.
If your prepared you can drink to him, he likes whiskey
I've done a bit of that and I can say he can drink me under the table
Cheers,
Mick

Hey Mick!!
Welcome home.
Sorry about losing your grand dad. Both of mine have been gone for quite some time. They were cool old coots and I still miss 'em.
Neat medal. I'm glad it found a good home.
I see so many neat things like that for sale because the heirs could care less.
Stop by more often.
Willie

Welcome back to the mess, Spits!!
Good to here from ye again!
Sorry for your loss I've been there.
Care for the medal, tie, and cert. Paraphrasing Willie, a lot are being sold by those with no empathy or sympathy. A visit to the Cambridge Memorial cured me of ever thinking that way.

Jesus Mick!!!!
Where the HELL have you been??????
Sorry about your Grandad. Sounds like he must've been a character and must've had a LOT of great stories, and probably some awful ones too....
I'll dig out the Uisce Beatha (whiskey) later mate....
Dust off your joystick and do the auld fellah proud.

Had to say, I'm glad the medal is going to a good home
I recently been looking at so many medals and war things being pretty much sold for a cheap night out on the net - its just criminal, these people have no damn idea of the price or what they are truely worth.. I think I was really angry one night and vented with Sneaky about it (poor Sneaky!)
Sorry to hear about your loss
