Hmmm
Hmmm
Ok I'll been having 2 re-occuring problems with IL-2 1946 maybe somebody knows something because its really annoying me now.
Firstly, the once yellow il-2 mouse arrow has decided to revert back to the windows one and it'll just hang around there all the time.. only way I found of fixing it was to re-install, and some time later its back.. you can't do zip with the windows mouse icon there really - or even hit Escape to quit. I've tried closing the window and re-opening and that kinda thing but this one has me beat right now.
Secondly, I keep getting some pretty nasty freeze ups with IL-2, even had it force a system reboot 3 times up to now. No problems with other games / software..
Thirdly everytime the game restarts today it resets my bloody controls and all settings
So grounded until I can resolve it, I can re-install for a tempory fix but the problem comes back again and again like AB
So anyone body know anything about whats up or how to fix something I would be forever greatful

Hey Uncle, don't be a stranger. Have you gotten an application yet? You are invited to join any of our df's or co-ops any time. Participation in these are not a requirement though.
Yeah, the "Community Help" forum at Ubi is full of smart techy-type peeps. Give it a go NC!
When my curser gets stuck, usually just after opening the game, I press the widows key, go to desktop and then reopen the game from the task bar.
Works for me.

"He who warned, uh, the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms, uh, by ringing those bells, and um, makin' sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed."

I had a few problems with drivers recently - I wanted to try and use the Saitek software for my X45 to build a profile for LOMAC - in the end I had to uninstall because it was screwing up "46".
By the way, as I have Lock On Gold now anyone fancy giving me some online tuition for this beast of a game?
Ubi will help get your problem seen by a lot of potential helpers, but if you post your dxdiag here I'd be happy to take a gander at it. The dxdiag is one of the first things that the guys over at Ubi will ask for anyway, so it wouldn't hurt to throw it up here.
Posting the contents of your conf.ini would also be helpful.
You say that your temps are all looking good. What particular temps do you have readouts for?
Let's see if we can get you back in the air.

instead of talking jerk let's do something creative...format NC's puter remotely;)
ok, im the 4th one here;) now we're a lil crowd;)
hey NC, sorry to hear about the evil puter's ways...
Try reinstalling the game, but after uninstaling delete everything, maybe just save your skins. Delete all registry entries that have to do with the game and such. after installing and patching the game make sure that none of the configh .ini files in the il2 directory has in its proprieties "read only" or sth like that, it should be unchecked as it may make your game come back to default control settings over and over again.
also , an anti-vir scan would not be bad, defrag your HD, run adaware to check if there is no spyware on your PC.
Rabbits have viruses sometimes, protect them!

Well I'd of responded had the problem not grown to a bloody epic scale! Sorry about that, nature of the beast I guess.
Sadly I had to format my hard drive (twice in a month so far) and re-install everything.
I'd like to take a moment to say farewell to all my Oblivion stuff...
My skins...
My links to favorite sites..
My IL-2 campaigns Macca sent me, just like the Oblivion stuff...
Computers bite, I can really see the appeal of Xbox 360s and Playstations 3's and Wii things.
Must learn to back things up I know.
Everything seems to be working now, sadly I missed tonights sessions due to not everything being installed in time and I even had time off to play what with the bank holiday monday - in my last life I must of been Mr Hitler or something
