Hi guys, I was just thinkin on the way to work this morning, wouldn't it be great to have a flying league! All the different squads flying against each other. Which squad would be at the top of the score board!!
Has anything like this been tried before and is there enough squads to make it work. I think its possible but would need a fair bit of organisation. I guess you would need to take numbers into consideration also. I think this kinda thing could keep the game alive though.
Let me know what you think, but I always see you boys enjoying yourselfs and flying at your best when in a challenge!!

I think that sort of thing does go on. Not certain but PROWAR comes to mind. They organise squad v squad, server v server online I think.
Probably one of the 'old hands ' in FIS could tell you. I think we have had squad matches before. Since I joined there have been a couple of squads posting interest in matches but I think they are pretty difficult to organise with time differences and all.
If enough people were interested I guess during the Sunday session time would make most sense.

Let me see ...

A very dedicated competition with tough rules though ... that´s all I can offer to you. I´ve been told lately that SnoopBaron planned to set up an own league. Unfortunatley I don´t know if this project is still in work or not.
Is it getting already boring for you, Mikester?
I´m good for this idea ... but keep the rules simple because I´m stupid, I say!

I aint geting bored yet mate ask me in another year! I was thinking more for you oldtimers!! It would inspire people to get back into the game, it would also be fun to fly as a team. Its more enjoyable to help a team mate than shoot someone down i wreckon. I think it would be great for the game and ill be thinking long and hard on how to make it work, even if not on a large scale.[/quote]

Could do an all "Irish" league... Assign everyone a wingman (or group of 4-5 for a wing, if you prefer)... then set brackets and see who comes out on top, who has the most team work, etc...
Or just give in to the apathy...

Yeah, I had plans for this but I've been swamped by other things. If I ever get some time I'll look into it again. The idea was to setup a very treamlined userfriendly ladder system from 1vs1 to squad vs squad games.

...There was a time last summer when our fearless leader Genosse (bless his tarnished soul) set up a couple of 1/1 dogfights with that dastardly frog team known as SV. (C'est Le Joker..) You are totally correct in the opinion that full- real, squad play will affect one's heartrate; it's really a question of organization at this point, and posting a date to let all those interested know. Yes but only to annoy people, think of it as the IL2 equivalent of Knock Down Ginger, the kids game where you would knock on someone's front door then runaway and hide (and blame some one else if you were caught - ah the innocence of youth).

Waaaarble! Waaaarble! Waaarble! ( It's an English telephone.

)
(Picks up receiver)
"Fighting Irish. Pubs open. Darts are on the house and balding pates are targets. How may I help you?"
(Listens)
"Mrs. who? Ward? Got a first name?" (Jerks receiver away from ear)
(Holds hand over mouthpiece)
Hey, M8s! It's a Mrs. Wars calling again. Says she's tired of complaining to menials or being "put on hold" and wants to speak immediately with the Wing Commander.
(Laughs)
Who wants to be the "Wing Commander" this time?
(Laughs again)
(Speaks into mouthpiece)
"Please "hold"..."
(Lays receiver on bar.)
"Wing Commander" Falcon saunters to the bar...
...and wear your feckin' mask!!!!!
