Can't wait to see this movie. Only thing is it's strange for a Spartan king to have a Scottish accent.

At least this movie is better than that political hogwash V for Vendetta.

Love that history. I intend to go see the movie and eventually add the DVD to my collection of growing warfare epics.

From what little history I gathered from the story those 300 Spartans saved Western Civilization from the Persians. If they didn't we'd be zipping around in flying carpets.

This movie is less about the history and more about Frank Miller's Graphic Novel (of the same name). That's not to say that it's not based in history. But it's how Frank Miller tells it, not necessarily how "History" has it word for word.
The graphic novel ("the 300") is several years old. I remember a friend of mine being taken in by Mr. Miller's dark take on an already dark story.
I enjoyed every page of Miller's Sin City before it came to the big screen. This adaptation should be good as well.
"Our archers will let fly so many arrows that they'll block out the Sun!"
"Then we will fight in the shade."
It should prove to be a good movie.

Yep, Frank Miller is one of the better graphic novelist out there. From the trailer I've seen the special effects are out of this world. The environment looks almost surreal.
