BTW, gherkin juice would be
Gurkensaft in German language ... anyhow, nice choice of nick name ...
S'loot, m8!

Gurkensaft implies a multiple pickle source.
I doubt I'll be able to get off the carrier, much less land it, but I'll try to show up anyway! My wife is far away during the week and comes home for the weekends, though, so I may want to stick to weekday flights.
Cheers,

It certainly seems like I found the right place! It's so friendly here! Does it get less friendly after last call or the next morning?
The little German I know is all from school.
I'm 3/8 Swede, 5/8 Norsk-Scott-French-German mutt, 100% target practice.
I have a question--I've tried flying online, and often they start me in an open field, and I can't tell where the runway is. Generally, it gets lumpy, my tires fall off, my prop gets bent and I slide to a stop. How do you guys see the freakin runway, especially with your nose pointed above the horizon?
Also, should I try to get the teamspeak password from hyperlobby guys?
Finally, how do I switch to the =FI= room in hyperlobby? I can't find it in the manual.
Sorry for being a confused 14m3x0r n00b (x0r).

There isn't one. When around just look in the Player List in the Forgotten Battles lobby. You can page members there - add to "friends list" - join a server we are in. On Sundays/Fridays we'll launch from a "Teamplay Room"
As far as finding the runway goes, if there are no external views on the server I would suggest flying a Zero to get the hang of it. Open the cockpit,Make sure "gunsight view" is off and raise the seat to get a better view. Then you can practice taxiing. It helps if you assign brakes to a handy button on the joystick to assist steering and snake towards the taxiway/runway as was done in RL. 20-30 kph and keep the stick back to prevent nosing over. Some servers have the runways marked with fires or lights (some have the whole perimeter sandbagged and fenced off). Best to use nav lights so you're easily seen by other traffic. When you get to the runway watch out for torque and propwash pulling you to the left (right on most Russian AC).Gradually increase throttle so you get a feel for it. Try to make a mental note (or blue tack on the monitor) where the horizon sits before take off, it will help when its time to land.
"The marksman hitteth the target partly by pulling, partly by letting go. The boatsman reacheth the landing partly by pulling, partly by letting go." (Egyptian proverb)
