Death to MTV

Post by AltarBoy » Sat Sep 02, 2006 2:49 pm

I haven't watched MTV since the mid-90s and this morning I was flipping through the channels and there it was. Decided to take some in and almost retched. Since when richer-than-Forbes teenies are the in-thing? What average teenager can relate to their lifestyles? Was watching some 'reality' show called 'Sweet Sixteen' and they show you some snot-nosed rich girl bawling down the place just because daddy gave her the black sports car instead of the red to match her makeup. And where's the bloody music? Call me old but this sucks!

Later this month some 80s bands are having a concert here. Scorpions, Vixen, L.A. Guns (?) and some others. I'd rather go there. Get drunk outta my ass and ROCK!!!!!!!

Best decade; the 60's

followed by the 50's

then the 70's

then ...

well, there's not much worth mentioning after that.

They're right about MTV though.

The '90's were brilliant , if you knew where to go.

Everybody Falcon is a Disco Duck (Quack, Quack,Quack!!!!)

The 80s was a magical time for me. A recession, a dead-end job, long hair (yeah, had that once), broke, no girlfriend and Metal to kill! My older sister grew up on that 70s thing and my older brother the sixties. Hated disco during the 70s. Listened to the Sex Pistols during that time. Ah, the good old days! :)

Early 70's I had residency at venues doing lights.

do these suck?

Thin Lizzy
Taste
Deep Purple
Ace
Dr John
Horslips
T Rex
to name a few

late 70's I was roadcrew for the Wasps
venues like the Roxy, Vortex and Music Machine
( lol never seen anyone run so fast as the Spanish film crew that visited the Roxy)

Just cruised through the 80's on a motorcycle (or several)

the 90's was like

and doing visuals with these

Thin Lizzy was da bomb! My fave is "Cold Sweat". Who said the Irish can't rock? Not into Ska or anything much after Grunge. I remember my sister giving me my very first album from the, erm, Bay City Rollers. But then came along Black Sabbath and I've been a naughty boy ever since. Music these days have no edge and way too commercialized. All I see in music videos are pimps, gangster rappers, emos and scantily clad women, erm, that ain't so bad. Bands like Rush and R.E.M. still have my respect. :)

What's that ship? Or wait I was a wee lad back then. Let me make a guess. That looks like a spy ship. Was it the American Spy Ship that the Israeli Air Force attacked? It's a wild guess.

Erm, ok did a check on the "Ross Revenge:, seems it was a broadcast ship of some sort?

Always thought that was the 70's.

If you can remember the 70's you probably weren't there either
