Flippin' ferret feces!!!!!
You've heard me gripe about sloppy matting before but the I-16 is the absolute worst!
!!!
There is NO Froopin' way to fix the dozens and dozens of errors on this model.
It's so florpin' screwed up that I can only work an hour or so a day before I get too frustrated to continue.
<pant pant>
Anyway, look around the undercarriage and see all the double lines and blurred areas and you get a wee idea what troubles there are trying to skin this sucker accurately.
This may take a while folks.

Clear as mud to me!
Good luck Falc... you're going somewhere that apparently even the original game skinners feared to tread. I do not envy the task you are about to undertake...

You've got red on you.

Give me the punch ladle, I'll fathom the bowl.

...this is to be a Squadron Plane?
First, scrape off all the Bondo to get rid of the smooth look.
Next, gorge yourself on cabbage, tripe and beer.
Then give it a good barf.
If
that rough it up, nothing will.!

...and wear your feckin' mask!!!!!

Falcon, check your e=mail I've sent a template I found a while back at Skinners Heaven. Not wishing to spoil all your fun its PSP format.
I think the author was "Lego"(no not the brick guy!!"

Thanks Snee,
I will definitely check it out.
Not to knock the gift mate, but all those expert skinners may have the talent and time to do some purdy stuff,
but their accuracy, (90%), is lacking.
<There ARE a VERY few who get the artsy stuff AND the accuracy both right>
That's what's killing me on the I-16. The cruddy matting makes it absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to make a good, accurate skin.
Gah!
What I'm trying to do is figure out which lines to accentuate and which to kinna hide to minimize all the errors.
I took a five day break from the lousy thing and hope to get back at it tomorrow.
Thanks again,
Falcon

thanks Snee ??
Just glad Falcons not a Dutchman then !!!
Have'nt used the template on any SERIOUS skins,Decided to do I-153's instead for a display team. Got no reference as to accuracy but some nice looking detail in there as I remember, ribbing and the like. You may want to change the Layer order and opacity.cant remember how I left it last.

You might not believe it ...
I sure have a hard time believing it ...
but I've put another five to ten hours in this thing
and I'm still not ready to start the artsy stuff.
I can almost see the end of the tunnel though ...
I just hope there's no light there.
