clumsy me...

Post by :FI:Cider » Sun Oct 16, 2005 12:16 pm

had a little acciddent today at my site. lost a nail on me left hand and got several fingers quite mashed. did a loop with the wheelbarrow full of concrete and was too slow to retract my hands when the barrow hit some wooden planks. the medics at the hospital had a good laugh when i told them what happened. my dad who was helping me at the time said it looked kinda acrobatic  .

I´m really pissed because now everything gets delayed for several weeks and it looks like i can't install the heating before the first cold weather starts. .
ah well, i hope i have BOD in early spring.

for the acrobatics:

a 7.5 from the American judge,

...

I bet your golfing, baseball and fishing activities will be curtailed a wee bit too.

Be careful Cider!

GAH, Cider!

What the heck are you doing there? First you´ve to build your house then you can do the acrobatics for dog´s sake ... btw, it´s quite hard to do some things with one hand only ... :p  ;)

Gute Besserung, Martin! :)

Considering all you've accomplished thus far it goes without saying that you have been exceptionally careful!

Building a home is no small undertaking, so thank goodness nothing more serious happened!

Heal up, m8!

We miss you in the sessions!

proceedings!

Post by :FI:Cider » Sun Jan 22, 2006 1:12 pm

today i remembered to take a few pics of my neverending nightmare :D .
fine thing about building the house is i can buy new tools whenever i need them without the missus nagging  ("will you be quicker with this new accu-drillingmachine?" "FOR SURE!" " go, buy it").

outside view of the whole thing (including my truck). there's lots of snow around here but (as you can notice) NOT on the roof. that's because it is not insulated right now.
Image

the living room. with a view to the kitchen. lots of beercans in the yellowish plasticbag. well, it was dry in there...
Image

part of the heating-installation in the basement. was fun to build this stuff when you know someone who knows how to do this things properly.
Image

the wife's hobby-room. funny, it's the first room in the entire building which is completed ;) . it's (the room) now used for recreational activities (e.g. beer-drinking/smoking/coffee-brewing)
Image

the main room in the basement. have to tidy it sometime, i think. the little oven is not used anymore, but it really helped me getting through the cold times when the heating wasn't up and running.
Image

sometime in the far future this will be my hobby room. it's now used as a storage facility. it's also the room of the evil wheelbarrow! it has been decided that this will be the LAST room to be finished in the house..... ;)
Image

you see, i'm coming along nicely. think i will move in april or may. good thing is i have the heating working, i can work without wearing two pullovers.
i will post some pictures after next big breakthrough.

So where is the horse going or has that been avoided?

Cider,
Looking real good! What kind of heating system is that? A spiral concrete stair in the basement? Very nice looking house. So, you move in this spring and the party is when?
