XBox 360

Post by :FI:TacticalS! » Sat Dec 31, 2005 10:14 pm

Folks purchased a XBox 360 this Christmas for the kids (yes the kids not me ;) ). Nice system! Prior to Christmas we also replaced our old TV with a 34-inch HDTV and surround sound. Movies and gaming are very nice now.

Call of Duty 2 is really nice on the HDTV with surround sound! Just like watching Saving Private Ryan. Nice gameplay. Still struggling with the controller opposed to my mouse, but enjoying the immersive missions. Just started the British ones. My son Matthew is already done and planning on trying it again on Veteran. He also has been online (XBox Live) a few times.

There are a number of panels in the console interface. Besides offline gaming, you can play most games online with human opponents, download various things in the Marketplace like trailers, demos and game enhancements. You can play DVD movies, music and watch slideshows of pictures from your USB ditigal camera.

Each gamer can create his own profile and customize it with a theme like in XP. Each game has Achievement Points that one can unlock.

In addition to NHL2K6 (hockey), I also picked up NBA2K6 for some amazing basketball. My favourite teams are Colorado (hockey) and Spurs (basketball).

We also have CoD2 (of course) and a platform game called Kameo (awesome graphics). We downloaded from the Arcade (online) some puzzle/maze games and a car racing demo (free).

Everything has worked perfectly so far. Very nice system.

Regards,
TS!

Hey, TactS, as a player in NBA 2K6, can you go into the stands and put a whoopin' on the fans, man that would be so cool.

I know, but seeing those people in the crowds, I just couldn't resist.

Sadly Gurb I have a collection of four remotes sitting on a small table next to the TV- Yamaha Receiver, Panasonic HDTV, XBox 360 (DVD/PC) and Bell ExpressVu satellite receiver. I fear about how fat I might get this winter. ;)

Tact - "where's the remote" - S!
