You guys get out of my thread!

The Germans are known as the Franks (right Frank

) at this time, and I'm pretty sure they don't have flying machines, at least not yet.

Macca with the purchase of the expansion you get the patch for the original game automatically. Or, if you decide not to purchase the expansion you can download the patch for free.
FYI BI, which is now produced by SEGA not Activision, is installed in a sub-directory under the original game location. The patch is a collection of gameplay balances and game fixes. I sure you could head over to their site to read what has changed. And of course this will allow you to play the original game with these changes.
BI is set further along in history. The Romans are now divided into Western and Eastern empires, and for the purposes of this game there is no Senate (whence no Senate missions

). The map is divided is less territories with a lot more established so-called Barbarians, including more active Rebels. These other factions have improved tech trees and abilities.
There are a number of things besides better AI play that I like. Yes, all the new factions and new abilities (like certain troops swimming or forming shield walls) are cool, I also like how each faction has different win conditions, but my favourite feature is better night battles for the campaign mode. Diplomacy has also improved.
Spent last night advancing in my second Hun attempt. Things are looking much better than in my first campaign.

I also have already enjoyed several night attacks which are awesome!
Enuff said.

Don't know if this is a game for a busy student, but as you know lots of history and eye-candy to enjoy. Let me know if you pick it up.
What's your thoughts about Age of Empires III too Macca?
