Yes it looks promising. Currently enjoying Barbarian Invasion (expansion to Rome: Total War). One can never have too many strategy games, especially of Star Wars. They might even get this one right.

Well, I certainly think so Nellip. I really enjoyed the vanilla version of R:TW, especially after the patch. I tried the Total Realism mod but didn't really care for it. For me it lacked some good old fun that I found in R:TW.
BI is a nice new face on a great game engine. All new factions and campaign map (in that the territories have changed). Haven't had a night battle yet but they look great from the vids/pics I have seen. Playing with hordes is neat. Religion is a cool micro-management aspect. Lots of little changes and fixes here and there.
Probably the best aspect is the improved AI from the campaign side right into the battles. Not sure about other levels, but enjoying the game with H/H first time out. Some say it is still too easy on VH/VH. Ok, but most agree that a much better challenge. Need to really think this time around, or you will find yourself out of the game - that's nice!
If you do pick it up let me know how you make out. I'm currently enjoying a Huns campaign that I started on Thursday when I finally picked the game up.
Regards,
Tacticus

Work, YOU can't handle work.
Yes, I work 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (1/2-hour lunch) weekdays. I have to attend public meetings every other Tuesday evening. Was really busy over the summer - short on staff and busy development season. Put in 3-4 days of overtime.
Then there's the family. Two kids 12 and 10 plus the wifey. Not to mention 1 dog, 2 lizards and 2 gerbils. House/yard work.
Ok, where were we?
Usually sometime between 9-10:00 p.m. Dad gets to pretend for 1 maybe 2 hours. One night I'm a WW2 pilot, another night I'm Attila the Hun, then there's this other guy who is a soldier in BF2, and even another mate who thinks he plays NHL hockey (NHL2K6 for XBox). Always had a big imagination.
I take it the misses has restricted your gaming diet Fen?

Only [maybe] 19 more years before my retirement, assuming the kids have left the house. If not I'll keep working.:FI:Fenian wrote:I work from 07:30 to 16:30.... with 15 mins for lunch.....

Perhaps if you didn't poop at 7 p.m. that would give you some extra gaming time. Wait, sorry mis-read that part my dear mate!
And by the way I have been just teasing with you in this thread Fen. Not sure the status of your misses, please don't show her my suggestion about the rich woman, unless of course you got one lined up already.
So what, if anything, do you find the time to do with regards to gaming lately?

Hmmm..
the Forum seems to take up most of my time during the week, and lately I've been rejoining the 'Sunday Night Specials'.
Whne I get a spare half hour on a Sat. afternoon I'll shoot a few COD baddies... so I'm looking forward to the new release there....
