Ok...

1. Dont use cabs

2. Drink lots of beer

3. Eat beer cheese

4. Beware of the naughty girls

5. Visit jazz-clubs and when you enter one, draw a map, so it doesn´t take you 2 days to get out from there, like what happened to Cider

6. Bridge, castle, church

7. Little mechanical guys

8. Visit upper end of Wenceslas Square after 6pm in the evening, and dont take your GF with you

9. Visit concentration camp site

10. Visit a cathedral decorated entirely with human bones

11. Visit the rooftop terrace of the U-Prince hotel

12. Keep you hands on your wallet

13. Introduce Gurberly to your Mom

That should get me started... have i missed anything?

Thank you all for the good advices! And Rules, if dont mind asking your friend about more things to do over there, i would be very grateful ^:)

8) Looking to be a long list there Sapper...

I finaly traked Peter in Prag down...The place he likes the most is a castle Vysterad just outside Prag city, there is also the Strahov monastery next to it.(this is were the Swedish army "stole" the Silver-bible.

They have whyned about it for some time now but we say "IT´S OUR´s NOW, SO COME AND GET IT IF YOU DARE"

Beside thise places he simply states that all you have to do is "throw away the tourist-map and just take a walk around town, and you will se fantastic castles mansions parks and beer- house and many many many wondefull things"....

Today is the day!

First we are taking a flight to kopenhagen, wait there about 2 hours, and then to Prague! We should be there at 8 pm, just in time for every museum beeing closed, so i´ll guess i´ll head straight to some pub
Might be an idea to keep the GF away from the upper end of Wenceslas Square after 6pm in the evening... it's just sex tourism stuff then... interesting though
Hmmm... our hotel happens to be exactly in the place you warned about, Fenian... the wenceslas square

So far my plans are to go to the air force museum (my GF is gonna LOVE that) and Kutna hora, the cathedral decorated with human bones, that Murph was talking about... And off course there are all the other tourist attractions... the bridge, the castle, museums, etc...

I just called the hotel to confirm my reservation, and damn i got scared... the girl in the reception said that noooo, there is no reservation under your name (the hotel was already been paid). They had put the reservation under my girlfriends name, because her surname is german, which is easier for them to pronounce #-o I was sure that i got ripped off, before the trip had even began ;)

are you taking your GeForce with ya?

Hello, just wanted you guys to know, that i´m alive and well ;)

Man, these czech keyboards are tricky to use, because they have all these weird letters...

So far, i´ve visited all the normal tourist attractions in the city... plus erotic machines museum  haven´t got time to see that bone-cathedral though:?

Yesterday i was in the airforce museum, so i´ll be posting some pictures of it, once i get home... Among many other planes they had Spitfire, IL-2 sturmovik, me-262 and the úberplane, LA-7... they also had couple of avia 199´s, which is a czech version of bf109 g-14... It was pretty nice museum... entrance was free, but it was located in Kbely which is a village outskirts of prague.... getting there was no problem, since i used a taxi, but getting out.... of course they didn´t have any taxi´s there, so i had a little adventure of using local busses, trams and subway ;)

I also visited this cabaree-club, which had 150 half or totally naked girls 8-[ Great club, but that was the most expensive beer, i´ve ever had... 299 korunas´, which is 8,5 euros  tea and coffee had the same price...
Take me with you, I'll keep the nauty girls away from you free of charge.

Well, my GF took care of that

Air and Space Museum in USA

Post by MicVic » Fri Jul 22, 2005 9:14 pm

I may go to the new air and space museum here just outside of Washington DC. When I do, I'll post pics for all to see. This is the new museum that has part of the Enola Gay in it and an SR 71. Some amazing aircraft there for sure.

Man that sounds like an awesome trip Sapper :D I'm looking forward to the pictures when you get back. Your gf is pretty cool to let you go to that club, how did you manage to pull that off?

Back in Finland!

It was a nice trip, but it´s also good to be back... Here the beer tastes what it should (i hate that central european beer... it´s so sweet) and you can also get a decent cup of coffee

I´m currently at my GF´s parents, and since their computer is so old, i cant upload those pictures yet (this piece of junk doensn´t have any usb-ports)

Your gf is pretty cool to let you go to that club, how did you manage to pull that off?

Well it was easy... she was there with me ;) She´s a kind of girl who... you know, "plays for the both teams"

FInbar, did u mean the terrace in the wenceslas square?
Oh yeah... another thing... keep you hands on your wallet. There are a lot of pickpockets there these days...

Actually, i probably was targeted by one those pickpockets.... when i was trying to find a taxi, to take me to the the airforce museum i had a brochure of it, in the backpocket of my pants... when i finally found that taxi, i noticed that the brochure was gone.... concidering that 3/4 of that brochure was inside the pocket and only small part of it was visible, i find it hard to believe that it could have just fallen from my pocket... I can imagine that pickpockets face, when he/she realized what he/she got from me

taxis will screw you.....

Every time i got a taxi, i negotiated the price, before getting in.. that way they cant screw you too much, and you spare yourself from any nasty surprizes at the end of the trip.... Sure, they must have put some "tourist-extra" for the prices i negotiated with them, but it was still very cheap.... Taxi from the center of Prague to Kbely, where the air force museum was (about 15-20 kilometers) was 300 korunas... 10 euros.... In finland, you got to drive maybe 1 kilometer, with 10 euros (because even the start rate is 6-7 euros).

Oh yes, about the traffic in prague:.... oh my god.... it was a jungle out there.... People drive 80 km/h in the center of the city, on a 40km/h zone... they switch lanes how ever they like, they park their cars where ever they like... pedestrian crossings dont mean s**t to them... the only way you can cross the road relatively safe, are the pedastrian crossings which has traffic lights for the cars... And even then, when you´ve got the green light, and cars got the red one, you gotta keep your eyes open and get to the other side as quickly as you can....

But like i said.... a nice city ;) I´m definetly going there again...

Hmmm... i´m not sure if we are talking about the same place... this place i was, was a nightclub..... and it must have been a lot better place to be, since they had 50 go-go girls

Now czech have really figured out, what makes a good club.... just put enough pretty girls in there, and business will flourish
