Well, I flew on HL last night using 4.01m for the first time.

I was in a mustang, flew around for some time looking for a fight. Found one with a 109. Pulled in a turn and immediately went into a spin, it recovered easier than when I was using 4.00m.

So I recovered, pulled a bit and went into another spin, I began to see the tracers flying by and heard them hitting my ship as I tried just to fly the D! thing. I recovered again and again went into a spin.....


Ended up crashing into the ground.

I didn't spin like that in 3.04m. I really don't think I was exceeding the angle of attack for any given speed when it snaped into a spin.


I also noticed that the torque required a lot of rudder trim input. I tried to fly a 109 in another HL game, and couldn't get it to fly wings level no matter how much rudder or aileron trim I put in.


Is anyone else having handling issues with 4.01m? I was fit to be tied last night when after searching and searching only to loose control of the ship every time I attempted to manuever.

109`s and 190`s dont have rudder or aileron trim.

So what does that new flight model exactly mean? it´s more difficult to fly?

And did they fix the bug that 109 and 190 fans have always whined about... mg151 beeing underpowered?

THe MG 151 are no longer shooting marshmellows and fluffy soft thingies...

I peeled the wing off a P-38 very nicely in QMB with a very short burst from a default armed 190-A8 AFTER the WEAPON OUT OF AMMO warning was displayed. ( from my crappy shooting at another P-38 :lol: )

I also took out 3 Il-2's and a LaGG-3 in ONE mission during the 4.O interim.
:shock: :D With a 44 DORA!!!!!! :badgrin:


The flight model is different from 3.04.

Is the flight model realistic, have others found their planes to be easier to spin with 4.01m over 3.04m?

Hmmm 109's and 190's don't have rudder trim...any other way to counter the torgue? Perhaps there is a realizm configuration setting that could be changed so one doesn't have to hold right rudder most of the time.

How do frequent 190 or 109 jockee's handle the tendency to drop a wing?

Guess I have to go real easy on the pitch inputs to keep from spinning.

As for the 109 and 190's, aileron will counter the torque that is modeled into the FM. With the Dora, the rolling tendency disappears over 350kmh. Have yet to fly my beloved 109's with the new patch.

I FINALLY got my FPS up and my game to stop crashing by adding the line to config.ini and setting my clouds at MEDIUM!!!!! FFS. Had NO probs with 'em in 4.0.. :?

Also noticed that when attacking IL-2's last night, ( in a thunderstorm of HUGE proportions and ridiculously modeled turbulence) that my MG's were not doing the same job they were in 4.0.. Lots of fire and smoke and pretty lights from multiple hard hits and the IL2 soldiered on. 3 passes on the same plane hitting it from low six. :oops: Their rear gunners are better than ever it seems as well. I was attacking at over 600kmh and those punks drilled me 3 times in a row as I went climbing through the 3 plane formation at over 600kmh!! :shock: What a guy!! :lol: Two engine kills and a PK.. :roll:

I detuned mine. It was overly sensitive and now I can curse it with impunity. :badgrin:

Mine tops out at 88% rather than 100% , this REALLY helps when flying those twitchy 190's.

Now I have to use the "trim on slider" cheat for my 109.. :lol:
