Kevin McBride
Irishman celebrates defeating former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson at the end of round six at MCI Center in Washington June 11, 2005. Tyson's corner asked the referee to stop the fight giving McBride the win.

Someone that can make Mike Tyson retire is a good bloke in my book.

Someone should buy that boy a Guinness. Or three.

How Typical of Tyson...

...to throw in the towel.

Though I suppose McBride was somewhat tougher than the girlfriends and wives Mike was used to beating up. ;)

Frankly, I've been waiting for a woman to clean his clock. I'm a bit disappointed it wasn't a woman, but we can't have our cake and eat it too, right? ;)

Tyson lost because he had to wear a muzzle this time.

That fight was here where I live, wouldn't pay a dime to see Mike T (Teeth, not Tyson) fight your grandma.

Glad to see a good Irishman kick his butt...long overdue

Retirements too good for em.

Mike

This weekend in Washington DC at the MCI center. Tyson guit the fight in the 6th at which point he appeared to be even or slightly ahead in the scoring.....go figure.

I have an office mate who went to see the fight ($250 a seat). He was PO'd big time when "Iron" Mike surrendered without any signs of being defeated or injured in any way. People at the fight were throwing things into the ring after he quit. Rumors are that he just did it for the 2nd place prize money (5 million US dollars) so he could go out with a nice nest egg. I doubt he will be able to get another fight after this shamefull incident.

Age is certainly a factor; but in this case, some people I know who watched the fight believe that his problem was the same one he has always had..attitude. In this fight he tried to break or injure McBride's arm in a clinch (instead of biting). When that didn't work, he swung his head around trying to butt him in the face..... A sad show for sure. The Irishman pushed him down in retaliation for his "under the belt" attempts to disable him. Too bad, Tyson did have real tallent at one time, but that attitude...

Well, enough of that, Say goodnight Trixie,

Mike

ps. George Foreman was older and in worse shape when he tried his comeback.

The difference is, George Foreman knows how to box.
