Those yellow guys never learn... this is the fifth time this year, when they try to pull out a stunt like that... and i doubt that they dont have any more succes this time, either

Anyhoo... i´ll be gone for almost 2 weeks.... first week i´ll have acces to internet, but i wont be doing any flying :?

When I was a blue soldier during REFORGER exercices in Germany a couple decades ago, the oposing forces were Orange.

Guess they had a change of heart..or color.

Pheeeew! :?

What a fight...

There are few guys who join the exersice tomorrow, so guess whose been doing all their work (including his own)?.... Yeah... sleeping is totally over-rated anyway

I too was an engineer, when i was a conscript... combat engineer, to be exact... that´s where that "Sapper" comes from

Now i´m in the signal corps... i just play with my computers and radios, and leave the fighting for someone else

Motto for our engineer corps is "iske hakku isänmaan puolesta", which sounds kinda funny, when you translate it to english... "Pick axe, strike for your fatherland" In finnish, it doesn´t sound so radical, than it does in english...

Oh well... time to go buy some more red-bull ;)

Now that's a motto mouthfull. ;)

I think the US Army communications corps motto is "Call us when you get there" or somthing like that.

Good to meet a fellow sapper, I was with a combat engineer company near Frankfurt Germany back in 78 to 80. After that I spent a year and a half at the brigade HQ in Hanau as the S2 (military intelligence) for the brigade. Then I was stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA where I left the Army in 1984 and became a consultant which I am nowadays.

Good to meet ya, would like to see Finland someday. I did take a short holiday to Copenhagen Denmark and caught a hydafoil over to a small Swedish coastal town for a day trip, can't remember the name now.

Guten Tag Herr Sapper, (Don't know any Finish, broken German will have to do)

Hey Falcon,

I went to Winnsboro High School in Winnsboro, La and then to Lousinana University-Monroe (Used to be known as Northeast La U when I went there). Lived in Lousinas from 65 to 74.

My best man back then (I'm single again nowadays) was from Erath, La south of Lafayette. Don't get any more cajun than that.

Went to Mardi Gras and marched in some parades...one hell of a street party for sure.

So, how ya'll doin homie, hot enough for ya down South,

from '68 until death I've been in Louisiana,

Laplace or La Place, just 25 mi upriver from N'awlins

atop a giant mountain

elevation 25'

that was once a plantation

marched in five years of parades with my wee trumpet

spent over 11 years in Louisiana Tech, LSU, UNO, and Tulane.

Yeah, a career student.

Married a Texas girl who grew up in "Uptown" N.O.

probably keep her

what, and waste all that training?

welcome to the forums Mike.

8) kool,

Been flying in Snoopbaron's public game. Haven't flown with that much realism before, making some fatal flying mistakes close to the ground.... but learning. He just started a new mission, apparently a dogfight scenario...haven't seen any simulatd bad guys yet, guess it is just for "real' virtual pilots.

Enjoying the forum very much, I like the sense of humor everyone has, always get a laugh when I log on.

I guess I just select a game on HL that has FI folks flying in it and just jump into it...or do I need to communicate with them before the start to coordinate my role in the game? Don't want to mess things up.

I remember another town in northeastern La that sat on a mountain like the one you live on...Siclily Island it was called because it was on the only high ground in an otherwise very flat part of La. Went there once to play in a high school football game, Lousiana mountaineers like them and you are tough for sure.

Later,

Mike

EmVee,

I don't know WHAT"S gonna happen this week. Our good'ol reliable Snooper is off gettin' all Spanish wiff his gf/fc/wf so even though his server MAY still be up it ain't gonna be 4.0.

Yes, to find an :FI: you look for him any day, but on Sunday we are all up and swarmin' just like a good l'il pod should. Saturdays can be anything from crowded to desolate depending on how cold the Fins are, how hot the Texans are and if the Scots remembered where they put there 'puters.

Let's just see what happens this weekend, Mike. I'll be 'round near 2:00PM CT Sunday with v4.0; ready to cause trouble and sometime today if the pod schools ...

or whatever.

Woke up a bit early and thought I would check the forum before going back to sleep. My trip to West Virginia fell through for the weekend; but I will still probably be out of town today, Sunday, so don't be surprized if I'm not logged on later today. Thanks for the invite. Will follow through with it later on.

I did note some of you on Saturday, and in fact I logged on to a game you were in and before I could fly to where you guys were fightin some non Irish guys, the server kicked me off and it appeared the game was terminated.

Will try again later, :wink2:
