Official: Heirs of Reginald Mitchell forbid the use of the Spitfire in Maddox' BoB...

Just read this in The Guardian On-line.

Seems the Mitchell family does not feel confident that "a Russian software designer will do the Spitfire Mk. 1 justice in his upcoming flight simulation".

Reginald Mitchell was the famed designer of several inter-war record setting seaplanes and also the original Supermarine Spitfire Mk. 1.

According to the family lawyer, Avril Loof, "Oleg Maddox has previously shown an anti-UK bias in other computer flight simulations, for instance by unhistorically limiting the Spitfire ammunition supply to just a few seconds' worth".

(I guess they must be talking about the Spit V in FB...)

Loof continues: "We will take the matter to court. With the Mitchell family holding exclusive rights to the Spitfire make and model, the infringement is evident"

I can't believe this **** is happening in the UK too, after the whole PF debacle with US planes!

Seems the UK Ministry of Defence won't enter into the matter either (even though I think the Spitfire "belongs" to all of Britain, not just to the Mitchell family!!). MoD spokesman Jonathan Beaverbrook is quoted for saying that "the MoD only copyrighted RAF roundels, but not the actual planes that flew them. Those were the war years, and MoD resources were better employed elsewhere than in copyrighting aircraft models."

ok this is starting to get scary.

last week i got a call from a guy i've never talked to before in my life. he asked me if he could speak with my wife

so this leads me to wonder why people think that i have a GF or a wife.
