for some reason windows always "mutes" mine, that little checkbox in the volume control. I always think mine is then broken till I uncheck the box. Check it out?

Thats far better than my x800, and mine runs fine with IL2, so you should be set! Get a crossfire chipset based motherboard, another X1600 card and youre even more set
