Haven't seen or heard from him in years. He called and said come on down to the EAA meeting at Spinks Airport, have a burger and visit. Bub and I loaded up in the old Ford and set sail. It was the first cross country for the old Ford of more than 10 miles and it did great on the 80 mile round trip.
Met my old friend and ran into another old friend who has decided to invest in planes. Ten years ago he was an RC flyer of some renown. NOW he has a stable of VERY interesting flyable stuff INCLUDING the Mystery plane I posted, as well as a 22lb hangar cat.
Hangar kitteh. She owns the place
Ryan STA replica.
A clipped wing Cub and Fairchild 24
The Fairchild has a 6 cylinder Ranger engine. He's been informed that there are NO parts on the planet for that engine. When it dies, it is history unless he has a deep enough pocket to have whatever broke, custom made. Bummer.
We intended to fly the Cub and see if Marc could make Adam lose his lunch, but the grass strip was too wet and the airport had it closed. The airport has a LOT of biz-jet stuff on the concrete and a Cub has NO business around those damn things so we'll go back in the near future. I hope to try that Ryan on for size too. It had a part in a Ralph Lauren commercial a while back. They paid Jim some serious $$ to use that baby. It was flown to Mexico and back for the commercial.
I liked the dart board.
BTW, I found an Irishman in one fo the hangars next to the mystery plane.
Has a rooster on the tail..
LOVELY roundels.

Nice Marchetti

Ja. Der Dollar ist pretty worthless now.
The new Opel Ampera for example, which is similar to the Chevrolet Volt is 40k $ in the US. In Germany itis 43k€ So I could better import the car from the US and even safe money on it.
