No we don't use Xfire in the FI. What problems are you having? Good chance someone here has had it before and may be able to sort your problem out.
Thing to note in Hyperlobby is to choose "IL2 Forgotten Battles" form the list. If you've done this but still cannot connect to a server, try and disable any firewalls or enable the appropriate ports 21000 for IL2 1946 and in Hyperlobby ports 1698 - 1708. (This is the problem I had last week end).
These are generally the two most common issues people have, but let us know what problems you're having and we'll try and get you sorted out.
