Western Desert Campaign

Post by :FI:Nellip » Fri Nov 21, 2008 3:02 pm

I am starting to write a new historical campaign for Sunday nights, to fit in around Greg and Vin's "The Long Defeat" sessions.

The campaign will run from July 1941 onwards and we will be flying P40's - C models to start then D later in the campaign. We will be loosely following the activity of 112 Squadron who were the first to paint the sharksmouth symbol on their aircraft.

Missions will have a significant ground attack bias - which is historically accurate - involving close air support of ground units. The map will be the MTO in the modded version of the game.

I should have a few available to test shortly.

Sounds good mate. I like the old P40 and I think I already have a skin for 112 Squadron somewhere :D

Great Nelli, sounds like a good idea. So would that be desert skins?

R_Target, that frickin' bastage, has created some skins that are ... well, they simply blow anything else I've seen away ...

His thread is in the Ubi paint forum HERE.

I'll be available to customize his work for anyone or I can begin to upgrade my old MTO P-40

with either shark or proper sheep art.

...

Ya know ... I hear that there is little truth to the many rumors that R_Target is an elite socialist terrorist pirate heathen kitten kicker.*

:^o

Thanks Neil. Lookin' forward to the warm sands,

Falcon

Stu

Do you have skins for the C and the E models ?

If you do mate I'd really like one of each with the mighty wargromit and two little ducks :D :lol: :lol:

I agree R_Targets E model skins are superb but I think they should be spruced up as only you know how :D ;)

Well to be historic it should be a D - but as we don't have that in game it will have to be an E :D

You got it Gaj.

...

just don't make ME one of them.

~~~
Okay, R_Target has sent his P-40E template to me. I was able to give a few pointers to him to improve his work. :^o I will be able to use his template and put FI codes and pilot names on them. The other option will be whether you want the historic shark mouth graphic or the Sheep O'War. Please specify when/if ordering.
I'll be able to get to the P-40E modifications soon.
