I'm just amazed of the A2A Simulation add on Boeing 377 Stratocruiser for the Microsoft Flight Simulator 10.

They put a thing inside, called Accusim and it does what it's called like. Accurate simulation of the airplane and it's system.

And the best thing is beside looking good, as usual add ons, it remembers how you handled the aircraft.

Even if you start up the plane some days later after you've flow a hot air race with this airliner, it's not forgiving your faults.

You can maintain and repair it too but all that's just amazing for the Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

The part I really found odd was that he says the TBO on a 4360 is 100 hours. If I recall correctly it is closer to 8000 hours...

Maybe he was just a talking head for selling the add on or maybe he is talking 100 computer hours of compressed flight time.

I imagine it is possible to fail an engine in less than 100 hours if you totally mismanaged it. 4360's were known for heating issues on the back two banks of pistons. They're notorious for eating spark plugs. At 72 plugs per engine that can be time consuming and very expensive nowadays.

If you ever see a carburetor for one of those beasts, you will be AMAZED!! They are HUGE!!
Go to http://www.enginehistory.org/Gallery/UH ... case_1.JPG and look at the BIG black thing in the lower left hand corner of that pic. I'm pretty sure that is a 4360 carb. Compare to that Curtis 2 cyl v-twin engine on the top row..

All in all it sounds neat but it isn't my cup of tea.

I'll keep bashing the virtual DB601's and the DB-605's.
