we stukas were left out on a limb. we really need fighter escort as we lost one to fighter attack and the rest of use got shot at a fair bit

fighters should sweep in front/behind of the stuaks maybe 10-15 miles out keeping us sandwhiched in the middle

I know its only a game but if we are going to play with full real lets have full real fighter cover!
If 3 of you find yourself in that situation again I would try taking on the French fighters in your Stukas. They are very manueverable for a ground attack plane and the Ms 406 is shyte. Even if you dont kill them (and you might) it will tie them up till help arrives. I came back after fighting 2 fighters but took ages to catch you by which time your attackers had gone.

'How to' track available if required- 'Stuka @ 500m v 2 MS 406 Veteran AI '

The Italians did well. I have a message to the Italian Maintenace Officer "Weapon upgrade". I emptied all 700 12.7mm rds (only 39 hit :() at that IL2 and I swear half of those that hit just bounced off that thick skin. And for the BF-109 who assisted me by shooting over my shoulder, thanks for the bullet holes, I didn't even notice until I broke contact and my left wing kept dipping, I looked and was horrified to see a hole in my left wing, so the next round is on you :). It was absolute chaos there for awhile, excellent.

Pretty sure I got two Blenheims in the France mission - certainly gave me 400 points and I flamed two? Did not see them go down as my engine took a hit and I RTBed but they were certainly probables!

I want a word with the Italian maintenance officer - bloody engines cut out with any hint of -ve G and then won't restart :x

Guess I'll either have to learn to fly them properly or switch to 109's

Ok Neil, I checked the mission log reader and it said only one, but I went to the eventlog file and lo and behold you did get two. Now updated.

Will be doing two more extra missions 1 Kiev and 1 France this Thursday. There set I think for 6 players each, but again more can be added if there is a need. These will be with the modded version. Agian the score's from these will count on your stats.

A wee heads up boys- I have tried all the sound mod versions now and I have to say 092 is by far the best IMO. 093 has real issues with gun sounds(too quiet) as does the latest one SFX 06. Version 09 sounds as good but has some rear gunner issues. I suggest you new modders try it as there are no conflicts at all with host using 093. To change takes but a minute btw all you need to do is install 092 then rerun wrapper and ac installer which asks you which version U want with multiple choice, say 092....done. Aircraft dont need to be reinstalled.
If you dont like it (and you will!) reinstall 093 then wrapper then AC installer (multiple choice 093) again and your back to 093.
However if this makes life complicated .....haven't you noticed it is ;)
