The Orange Box

Next week I believe Valve's The Orange Box will be released on the PC, Xbox 360 and later PS3. This release will be a great bargain for those interested as it will feature 5 titles for the price of 1:

Half-Life 2
Episode 1
Episode 2
Portal
Team Fortress 2 (pictured above).

Since I never played Half-Life (yes that ONE guy was me ), this should make for a nice campaign experience. Certainly have read a lot of positive reviews and gamer impressions.

I also think that TF2 could be a major hit for online play. If nothing else the trailers at their site are fun to watch http://orange.half-life2.com/tf2.html.

Half-life 2 was a lot of fun. You will likely enjoy it. Just beware of Ravenholm.

We don't go to Ravenholm....

No, there are two of us.

Thanks Tac, looks good.

I've almost bought Half-Life about 40,000 times,

but I'll be busy gettin' my inner Elf on with the new release of NWN2:MotB Monday.

Yeah, I know ...

I'm hopeless.

these games are really fun if you like running through the Steam server. X-box prolly doesnt require this "logging into a phuckin server just to play a game" option. but i had these games installed on my older machine before that one went balls up. The graphics and game play are outta this world.

I'm playing F.E.A.R. these days and HL2. Will load up Episode One later. Ravenholm is sure scary but made minced meat out of dem Head Crabs. Can't wait to relive the moment on that speed bike.

Last Christmas I was going to pick up a HL2 bundle (it came with both expansions/episodes). I didn't because of it requiring Steam. You're right consoles won't require Steam.

Dan was scared? Now I'm scared. Playing this on the big screen HDTV with surround sound shouldn't make it anymore scary, right? :-k I better turn down the sound methinks.

- For the Xbox 360/Console Lads -

I recently played Halo 3. Apparently I wasn't alone. It outsold ANY entertainment related release in North America for its first day. And yes the game, like Halo & Halo 2, are over hyped to the max. Notwithstanding, I did find enjoyment in the solo campaign. Very doubtful I will ever go online with this game however. My son is enjoying this fantasy fps online with his friends.

Downloaded Bioshock's demo and was really impressed with the presentation but not my cup of tea.

Been messing around with EA's NHL 08.

Some interesting titles coming this fall. That's Assassin’s Creed looks interesting. It's for the PC too I believe. The Crusade period is cool. Lots of folks excited about the next Call of Duty title.

CoD for the console was crap. And HALO is indeed over-hyped. Gotta give it the Advertising guys, they pulled off a coup and fooled a whole bunch of folks.

Isn't that the one with modern combat?

What about "Billy's Box"? Or in light of the hardware problems people have had "Billy's Broken Box"? ;)

And yes the next CoD title is modern combat.

The Orange Box... I thought it was only coming out for the 360, but it looks like it's out for the PC as well... PS3 gets it in November...
