Okay, our 110's survived the northern desert somehow. We then painted a standard RLM 80 green splinter pattern over the well-worn white worm pattern, (say that three times fast).

A few continuity problems and more adjustments. Final Irishitizing not quite complete.

When Irish guys are flying,

Sore, cuz of their torn off wing.

In the guilt that follows after,

They will sneer about their ping.

Their 'puter parts are crappy,

Or the wife won't let them play.

So when Irish guys are fly-ing,

Sure, we'll have restarts to-day.

Just calls 'em likes I sees 'em. ;)

The weathering on the Spit Vb is excellent, but the camo colour seems a little chocolatey, at least to these Irishize. If the plane retained it's camo from North Africa it should be fairly worn,faded and chipped, and if it was repainted in preparation for Italy it would probably be in temperate colours. Or am I talking tríd mo hón?

As posted in the H.E. forum area, I'm pleased to announce the teams for our next campaign, which is planned to be a DF DCG campaign. :shock:

Team A: Allies
(1) Falcon
(2) Heloego
(3) Moe
(4) Murph
(5) Snaphoo
(6) SnoopBaron
(7) TacticalS!

Spitfire LF Mk. IXc, Supermarine
Spitfire Mk.VIII, Supermarine
Spitfire Mk.Vb clipped wing, Supermarine
Beaufighter Mk.21, Bristol
Mosquito FB.MK.VI Series 1, de Havilland
P-51 C "Mustang", North American
P-38 J "Lightning", Lockheed
P-40 M "Warhawk", Curtiss
A-20 G "Havok", Douglas
P-39 D-2 "Airacobra", Bell

vs.

Team B: Axis
(1) 2step
(2) Blue2
(3) McBiggles
(4) Noter
(5) Sneaky_Russian
(6) soda_MOH

FW-190 A-5, Focke Wulf
Bf-110 G-2, Messerschmitt
Bf-109 G-6 Late "Gustav", Messerschmitt
Bf-109 G-2 "Gustav", MesserschmittJU_87D5
Ju-88 A-4, Junkers
Ju-87 B-2 "Stuka", Junkers
MC-202 VII "Folgore", Macchi
MC-205 V Series III "Veltro", Macchi
He-111 H-6, Heinkel

I will leave most of the decision-making to you skinners. Ideally I would like as many planes with custom skins (flyable) as you boys can stomach. ;) Still think it would be appropriate to have two versions of the FI Squadron crest (Allied/Axis). I will let you guys fight it out to which one is used.

Ok? Anything else you boys need from me? Also, for anyone interested in joining this upcoming campaign, please let us know ASAP so you can be added to one of the teams.

As for specific graphical questions, as mentioned the other night this will be a DF-based DCG campaign. I have never used this mode of DCG. I suppose whatever occurs in a standard DF server with regard to squadron regimental graphics will be applicable. I will try to find out from soda some more details as soon as possible guys.

You are correct sir!

I was thinking more about making the mk. Vb distinguishable from the mk. IXc and less about the desert skin. I will work on that. The colors need to be faded and more wear needs to be added too. Thanks for the nudge.

Here is the MC.202VII. Remember, just a WIP.

The Italian planes need a lot more study to get their individual details correct. Up until late last year I never even flew one. I simply don't have time to research them now. They are pretty good though, but could be much better. So, as long as no Veltro or Folgore specialists fly by, we'll be okay.

Macchi's coming together nicely.

It's gonna be weird shooting at a plane with the Irish flag on it. But I'm willing to make an exception for McBiggles. :badgrin: ;)

A definite improvement, the weathering on the fuselage looks really good.

Stick a fork in this one, cos it's done. 8)

The Fw-190A all de-desertified ...

Image

WIP

McBiggles and Noter (right?) will get their checkers on the nose if they want and soda gets the checkered arse. If anyone wants any other genero-custom stuff, let us know!

~~~
So, how are the;
Spitfire Mk.VIII, Supermarine
P-40 M "Warhawk", Curtiss
P-39 D-2 "Airacobra", Bell
Bf-109 G-6 Late "Gustav", Messerschmitt
Ju-87 B-2 "Stuka", Junkers
He-111 H-6, Heinkel
comin' along?
If someone wants to do a second 109, that would be cool. I'll update the desert 109 and someone can do another scheme, (one for the G2 and one for the G6.)
... and how's the
dark sire FI insignia doing?
P-40 is coming along nicely... Just need to find any "historical" markings and debate whether or not the Warhawks should be marked as RAF rather than US fighters. (both a concern of historical accuracy and skinning)
I've got a G-6 template that I could paint up... I'll see what I can do, though I'm not sure it'll pass the mustard compared to the other fine vehicles on here. :)
It might pass the ketchup, though, if asked nicely. :D
Snaph.
