Bomber dogfight

I was reading 'The Hurricats' by Ralph Baker and in one of the chapters related a 'dogfight' between a patrolling B-24 and a German FW-200 which was about to attack a convoy. The Liberator shot down the enemy but after a brief S.O.S. disappeared twenty miles away from the convoy and was lost. The convoy couldn't turn back and pick up any survivors from the B-24 due to the harsh economics of convoy protection. Which was kind of tragic but I guess necessary. What a sight that must've been to see four engine bombers having a go at each other. The book also gives a detailed account on how to shoot down a FW-200 with a ship-catapulted Hurricane.

Don't knock it if you have'nt tried it- it's a gas, actually. We used to do it occasionally on Snoop's Sunday Server.

Hot Space (a member of the HGs and a seldom member here) used to fly the B-17 like a fighter. He used an app to make the AI flyable.

We actually did some 'duelling TB-3's' in a session, lots of fun.

Snoop's gunners shot out two of my engines and one of my ailerons.

Once I was out of ammo he flew over me and bombed me mid-air!

Hilarious!!!

That reminds me of that girl that shot me down in a bomber. And I was in a fighter and she was behind me. The shame never left me.
