Armed Assault

Post by :FI:Moog » Fri Mar 16, 2007 9:59 pm

I picked up this game a few days ago and it is totally freaking sweet. Macca'll know all about it, it's basically the sequel to Operation Flashpoint. Full, enhanced TIR4Pro support, and graphics that my old rig can handle well on low/med settings, but that even Rab's monster system couldn't milk at their fullest!

We should seriously consider adopting this, even part-time, as it features 100+ player real/AI soldier missions and one full, massive map with 10km view distance. Even if there were just two or three FI's online, we could form a squad, fill it up with AIs, then fight a full-scale armour/aircraft/artillery/spec ops/you name it/ battle, any time we liked! And the original OFP mod community is taking to the new game like a duck to a deadly new game.

Here's a tasty screenshot:

And here's a tasty movie:

With the skinning project slowing down to more human levels I will probably have time for one other game. This looks pretty good and I have that TrackIR6DoF thing and a 'puter that a year ago was uber.

If you guys go online with it, let me know.

thx,

Falcon

Absolutely Dutch!

So, if I were to get into ONE on-line ground stompin' (or puddle ploppin') game, what would it be?

COD?

COD2?

BF?

BF 2142?

Barbie's Menstral Mania Mall Madness?

Red Orchestra?

Silent Hunter III?

Silent Hunter - Pacific?

this Flashpoint thing?

What?!

Yep Stu, I did'nt want to say anything until I gave it a go, from what I hear it sounds promising. Should have it this week, so once the AI have killed me a few times in it I'll give my opinion here.

Just placed the order this evening so I should have it be the middle of next week. If Moog say's it a good fps that's eneough for me. So there are a good few of us that have or are getting it, these that I know off. Moog, Macca, Dutch, Ard, Me, Frank, Rules and I'm sure there will be more maybe the DSG gang can be talked into it, But we'll conrad to work on this. Also with this amount of guy's thinking of getting it shouldn't we open a thread in the locked section?. If Moog is about we can get more info out of him.
