Well lots of grass and trees, no aircraft, nothing flying from the glider club, even the clouds couldn't get off the ground today. Spent the day helping cut the undergrowth from some of the old structures.
It seems some want to preserve it, and others want to develop it.

Hey, Sneaky wanna borrow me weed whacker?

Really nice pics and they should really keep the place. But the pics of the smoke brings back memories. During 'Operation Weed Whacker' - a joint US and local authorities drive to eradicate all dem marijauna fields here we piled up the 'sweet leaves ' and burned them. I went downwind and inhaled. Needless to say I spent two weeks confined to barracks shining boots.

Here's a NEAT site about airfields.
http://www.controltowers.co.uk/H-K/Kenley.htm
And Here's a pic of Kenley from Google Earth Pro. The altitude showed 9,095 feet for the pic.
NW of Surrey right off the A3 (Portsmouth Road)?

OOPS..
GREAT pics!!
I'll go back and hunt for the REAL Kenley!
I've got the trlla version og GEpro. They're going to buy the full version for me at work, so I need to get familiar with all the little measuring stuffs on that proggie.
I've been tasked with finding out how many acres of right of way and and lane miles for some contracts we're renewing. We've got some fancy DMI gear in our trucks, but they want picto/maps with lane miles and acreage to show the bidders.
Ought to be fun trying to do everything I need to do AND that project.

FOUND IT!! right where you said it was.
Take a stroll over to Biggin Hill and see if you can tell me WTF that is in the trees just of the Eastern end of that unused diagonal runway. Appears to have a plane shape but is rusty looking. Also I see a what looks like a set of wings near the thing. I'd post a pic but I've got to empty a bunch of crap from my FTP site first......
I'm thinkin that thingy might be a fire fighting training device of some sort.

Apparently there are 21 of those things preserved, kicking around. One heck of a unique aircraft. There is something special about a country that keeps things like that around. (Big fan of Britich History shows)
