Sunday 22nd's Session

Flying Fellows - Good day to you!

Apols for the issues I had in Sundays sesh; the first mission my screen image would jolt every second and I think I must have had 2fps at times and on the second sesh my connection 'wobbled' so I was kicked.

I've found out what the first problem was - apparently my graphics card didn't recognise what it was meant to be doing (stupid card), but apparently it's a rare occurrance, but means you have to restart the app that's playing up.

The second issue is a bit more of a pain (dropping out).... It's my BT internet connection - apparently I keep losing the Broadband Internet signal, so my connection to whatever I'm logged into is dropped. I've been given some noise reduction tips and told to keep my router turned on (?) so I'll see how it goes. Unfortunatey however, if it doesn't get better I feel I'll be little use on Co-ops as I may just drop out. So I'll just be the fat wheezey 1st grade flight technician back at base with the half-time oranges.... which is a great shame.... :-({|=

Any way, I shall keep my chin out of the soup and my moustache waxed in hope!! Apols again for Sunday!!

Pip-Pip.

P.S I still have to prove that I can land properly.... see ya in HL!

Badger,

It was a pleasure having you join us last week. Keep working on those settings and issues and stuff. For years I had frame rate problems in co-ops. My fix was to throw huge amounts of money at the problem until it was fixed. Typical American finesse.

Anywho, I don't see what the big deal is. Many times I flew the whole day at 2-5 fps. Several times I took off using only two frames!

Not 2 fps ...

2 f

Yeah, I'm bad. ;)

Uh ... it IS much nicer at 40 - 70 fps though.

Keep testing and don't be shy asking for tech help here and the UBI forum.

See you next Sunday,

Falcon

Hey Badger,

I actually had the same problem. So much so that my computer rebooted. Obviously by the time I got back from reboot land the mission was done, and I think everyone was on to the last mission. Maybe next session both of our PC's will function properly.

Good luck sir!

^:)

Chaps

Affirmative on the conetivity front. ^:) I was on HL last night and got booted again for loss of connection. I'll try the noise reduction software and see if that makes any difference. Fingers crossed!! [-o<

The annoying thing that it's a 3.4G, 4Gb ram machine with all the gorgeous geeky fiddley bits I could want (for at least the next two months), so the problems (especially the graphics card) are a tad vexing!! :?

Did you read my Off Topics post about extra realism in the missions? Technical failures and turning back etc.? I think Oleg heard me.... :o

It's in the lap of the Gods!!! Gentlemen - to your planes!!!

Ps Sorry for the over use of Emoticons - I was feeling a bit arty this morning! :D
