The Spit IX is a good choice. The Vb skin will fit it fine, but there are some differences. The access panels on the underside of the wing near the leading edge are different for instance.

Skin dat booger,

An update on our progress and planning to finish up the Allied*ac.

Please let me know if I've made any errors.

Red ac are duplicated by two or more skinners.

Gray ac are Axis.

Okay, I guess we can start phase two;

deciding who's duplicates get used first and who's are saved for later release.

Then, each skinner creates a finished* blank** skin to be placed in Gurb's FTP files.

Do we need to get back on TS for this or what?

Falcon

*Finished can be w/o wear/chip/dirt/smoke layer if time is tight.

**Blank means no pilot name or number. Roundels, insignia, sheep, etc. used.

I don't think we need TS, pretty straight forward. I guess just an address to send the files.

Noter's got a Hellcat? Cool! Didn't see it in the pictures in any of the threads. I've got a "winter" P-39 as well, as well as an "IreGreen" model.

Give me a time to be on TS, and I'll try my best to be there.

Okay, so who's P-39, Hellcat, P-40b/c, P-47, and IL-2 do we use first?

We need to decide that before we start filling up Goib's sock drawer.

...

I could be on TS ... uh ... whenever.

I can do Friday again, like we did last time, 9'ish, maybe sooner if need be. I have a Hellcat, but I didn't FI it with green or anything. Snap's is great, I say we just go with his...we can go over it all on TS I guess. The ones I did with the FI green are:

Corsair
Mk VIII
La5
Hurricane
P-40 E/M

Other than these I don't have anything to submit as completed.

Since there seems to be only one conflict left,

Snaphoo and I have a P-40b/c,

then we'll use Snaphoo's P-40 if he likes.

I'll prolly try to hog all the fancy Germerman planes anyway.

Deal?

Well, I don't mean ALL of them ...

just the obscure, unknown ones.

190, 109, 110

you know, those.

Skin types

Post by :FI:Sneaky_Russian » Sat Oct 07, 2006 8:47 pm

OK. so we have

Blank - no markings (for coops with national markings)

Custom - with FI markings only

Personalized - Markings, number, nose art, sheep etc..

? Question ?

would that give filenames:-

P40E_IrGr = blank
P40E_IrGr_00 = custom
P40E_IrGr_23 = personal

As far as AC name goes, and snaphoo saying that filename would be too long to read the number:-

"SpitfireMkIX25lbs" ,"SpitfireMkVbLFCLP", etc. seem to be the longest names. as long as folder name is as in-game actual filename could be abbreviated to just "MklX25lbs","MkVbLFCLP", etc.

so "SpitfireMkIX25lbs_IrMt_00" becomes "MkIX25lbs_IrMt_00"

Blank/default = just FI rounds and stripes

Blank is for first try out of this uber projekt and for any guests or members who have not been given a personal skin w/a number yet.

Custom/personalized = rounds, stripes, pilot names, squadron member number

Personal skin is for all active members to be used after blank skin try out. This is a big job that may take ... two weeks?

~~~~~~~~
File names will be GENERAL names.
Ex:
Hurricane
Wildcat
La-5
Mosquito
B-25
P-47_FIMt_04_Fcn
P-47_FIMt_05_Fcn
P-47_FIMt_06_Fcn
P-47_FIMt_07_Fcn
P-47_FIMt_08_Fcn
P-47_FIMt_10_Fcn
These will be put into FTP in proper general folder marked,
HurricaneMkIIb_HurricaneMkIIc_HurricaneMkIIbMod
F4F-3_F4F-4_FM-2
LA-5_La-5F_La-5FN
MosquitoFBMkVI
B-25J-1NA
P-47D-10_P-47D-22_P-47D-27_P-47D
I'll send the FTP stuff to you and you can see what I just said ...
I think.
Let me know if you think it's a good set up.
Thanks,
F
