Question about uniformity, should we use the dual roundel on the top wings and the stripes on the bottom, or vary it depending on the nationality of the plane. Like using one roundel on the top and bottom of the wings on the US planes. Or does it really matter.

I only use the one-roundel-per-side design on the US FISmetal stuff.

I like to do the stripes and rounds on all the others.

Just my preference.

This is only proof of concept!

I am not now, nor am I intending to steal anyone's idea... I only took Falcon's excellent aluminum idea and tried, unsuccessfully to apply it to the P-38...

Here is what I came up with...

Image

I was unaware of the "one roundel per side on the US planes" at the time that I made this...
Image

one of the many problems was where they meet... perhaps I'm just lazy, but it would probably take me the better part of a month to fix this mismatch...[inset]
Image

I also missed the gold(or is it orange?) tail and I don't have the red harp...

Oh, Dog!

Poor Snaphoo!

You must have had a bee-yatch of a time with those orange/gold stripes on those booms!

That's why I tried a slightly different design when I tried doing the "Lightning".

It looks great though!

I'll post my old design as soon as I can find it.

Good work!

Yeah... I lost a little more of my sanity with that one... but learned a lot on the 38's void... :D

That's nice metal, is it yours?

And nice texture too.

If we get one thing out of all this, it will be that we all learn a li'l sumpin'

Very nice Falc!

On the subject of wear... is this too much dirt/filth? Or do I need more?

Yes, that's too much. You need more, so take some off and then increase it lower.

While other's are finishing up their Allied ac, I thought I'd start on some uber planes.

It needs a lot of color balancing and I guess it should be greener, huh?

Sheila decided to tag along.

Definitely needs more greens - feed it spinach, cabbage and sprouts and you should see speed go up by 20mph - in short bursts

:?

Seriously, some of these do look a bit too "bleached" - I know you like your aircraft to look "distressed" but maybe a few are a bit overdone?
