Armoured Fury is out.

However it seems that the servers are crashing around the globe due to the high levels of demand.
If your intent on getting it you might want to wait a while.
The A-10 should be kinda fun, though you'll probabaly get T/K'd a lot trying to get one.

BF2 Armoured Fury

Post by :FI:Dutchman » Wed Jun 14, 2006 7:22 am

Yep it's out.
who of the platoonies got it already ??

and what is da first opinion ??

good to share some experience, if we take a look at European forces
that add-on was not what most of us expected.
so if we share some info here, maybe it helps ya to decide to buy or not to buy BF2-AF.

well my first oppinion is :
the maps look great but stil not big enough when it comes to flying.
The new heli's are great good balance to the heli's that allready in the game.
I did not fly any aircraft in BF2-AF so can't say anything on that but they look nice and the A-10 gives realy the feel that it is a tank buster when it flies over, i mean it does not give me the feel it is a fast flying motherf..cking plane. so thats okee i guess, The ground to air missiles are a real enemy to this A-10's.
the idea that the MEC take over american soil is also fun to me nice scenario.

so in that case the 9.99 dollar is not a waste if you compare it with the Euroforce add-on

Dutch
Played all three new maps.
The A-10 is cool nice and slow so you can spot the tanks.
The little bird choppers are sweet.
All three maps are great with my fav being Harvest then Road Rage.
Both are tankers heaven with lots of long shot battles staying off the highway is advised as the jets look there first.
Poping smoke and retreating was needed often.
You can find yourself in an armoured column with A-10 s overhead riding shotgun, little birds providing additional cover because they have continuous UAV,mobile AA,and several Abrahms.
Made a welcome break from Karkand and Warlord.
AND IT DOWNLOADED AND UNZIPPED WITHOUT A PROBLEM ALL FOR A MEASLY £5...UBI please take note

Macca

The crashes seem connected to the 1.3 patch,it seems there is a fix on the way.
I kinda like Armoured Fury where else can I get large tank battles across wheat fields?
Harvest for me is best simply because it has no aircraft that bomb you to bits as soon as you move, even on Road Rage they seem less active than Wake or other maps.
It relatively cheap too.
Im heading towards 450 hours on BF2 so Im sort of hooked,my aim is to stop when I have all the Experts,by which time Storm of War should be out,or maybe not.
When you get a squad on voip it's a completely different experience.

Got it.

After some problems with running it (the booster pack changed my BF2 nickname, had to change it back to my original one) it runs.

And it is great, new maps are really great tanks rule, Harvet map is absoutely beautiful:)

A very good booster pack ;)

S!
