SS Doomtrooper?

Post by :FI:Genosse » Sat Apr 01, 2006 7:14 am

Is this something like imperial SS trooper hunting down an alien invasion of ugly slimy monsters in very dark corridors of a planet far, far away in outta space?

Naw, Beo! I have to quit ... I´m not connected to US cable services. ;)

Have fun though, mate!

no, no, no...dear chap! okay... it's near the end of WW2, Hitler's desperate... he's leaning on his stooge/minion scientests to come up with something to crush the allies with and win the war at the last moment.

the stooge/minion mad scientest are scrambling to come up with something, else they know Herr Hitler will BBQ them.

"wait a second...what about a slathering overgrown doom-like monster---a SS Kommando type soldier transformed into such a thing that can wipe the floor with the allied swine?"

good idea...so the transformation begins.

ahhh, but of course, once such a creature is created, no one---including the stooge/minion nazi scientests---can control him. (naturally.)

so of course the allies send in their very best ranger/commando team to take out the beast and smash the nazi devices that created it in the first place.

ahhh, but can even THEY stop the dreadful SS DOOMTROOPER?

  :?

Just another TV movie...

...that couldn't cut it in Hollywood.

From the previews it was SciFi Channel Meets Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

I didn't bother, and I love SciFi. :O~

That sounds like the worst movie ever made ;)

actually, i spotted the previews and thought it might be fun to watch...

as i like to keep an open mind and reserve opinions about such things before commenting, i did in fact watch it. certainly no high-brow movie, surely lacking in newness of plot, yet the thing wasn't a total write-off. the actors weren't too bad, though mostly unknown... though their charactors lacked some development. the settings and equipment/uniforms/weapons used was first rate... actually helped give an atmosphere of WW2!

the computer generated segments of Dakato transports with P51 Mustang escorts...including a dogfight as the Mustangs intercepted attacking 109s was really GOOD! and worth watching.

the monster---the SS Doomtrooper---however was a bust. though it initally looked good in the dark of the castle lab... by the light of day it was clearly a computer generated monster and lacked substance... ie the worst part of the entire movie.

on a scale of 1 to 10 for those type of movies... i'd give it a 5 or perhaps even a 6. not a great movie, agreed, but then again certainly not the WORST movie either. you have to take those sorts of movies on a one for one basis...not group them all in together. they're made for pure fantasy...to be watched with a gut full of popcorn/sugar babies and possibly a couple of beers. to take the hoots with the gags and sighs.

again, as i said, not for high brows... but then who's a high brow, eh?

oh so I believe.

Okay ...

I watched most of it ...

There were parts where I had to run to the toilet to make an editorial statement but I did see most of it.

Some of the special effects were cool and I tried to get into the spirit of the thing, but it generally sucked.

... not quite as painful as "Cash in the Attic".

Thanks Bey,

agreed, it did generally suck... ahh, but that's the beauty of these low budget films. its the degree of sucky-ness that marks them!

as noted, i'd rate this about a 5 on one of THOSE scales. and really, that's not too bad at all. as you said, Fal... at least the special effects were pretty good.

now, let's get to the meat of low-brow sucky-ness... as you mentioned:

Cash In The Attic: argh!

on a scale of 1 to 10: -00

Trading Places: -01 though i'd do some of the hot chicks on there.

Footballers Wives: -0000000000 x 000000 squared. :x

only way i could ever FORCE myself to watch any of the above named episodes would be with some HEAVY duty pixie dust and three cases of beer. ;)

'Dolly Does Dallas'?, I thought it wad 'Daisy Does the USS Enterprise'. That SS Doomthing saids a lot like a SciFi movie that had Dennis Hopper as a space truck driver hauling secret space monter/warriors.
