A Recent Telephone Conversation...

Post by :FI:Heloego » Wed Aug 03, 2005 3:31 am

...with one of my pilots:

Date: Wednesday, July 27th

Me: "Rob. I'm on my way to the base. Ground the aircraft. There is an emergency bulletin that takes effect at midnight tonight, and it must be performed prior to the first flight of the day. I'm coming in to do it now so I don't have to come by after midnight, OK?"

Rob: "Is this something that can wait until the weekend?"

And this is what i have to deal with for 5 straight days out of the 7 he is on duty.

Sorry. It just eats the shyte out of me that someone like this is actually allowed to pilot a commercial aircraft.
...and wear your feckin' mask!!!!! :x

Helo,
I know what you're talking about. Pilots are in the same category as air traffic controllers (no offence to Falcon). Can't explain 'squat' to them. They control millions of dollars worth of aircraft and thousands of lives, but you still can't explain to them how to flush a freaking toilet (no, i'm not joking).
IF its night time (dark), visibilty is 10 plus miles, the runway lights are 'off'; from what distance can you see the runway lights? (no, its not a trick question.)

Spitfire,
Negative. You can't see the runway lights at night if they're off and the visibility is unlimited.......because the lights are off and its dark......i had a hard time explaining that to a controller.......she kept logging my RVR out of service because it was showing '0000' at night with the lights off. (just like it was suppose to)..

I guess I would be able to see the lights (lamps) from few meters... even at night
