While I still have my eyes on that Band of Brothers DVD collection, I picked up today at Wal-Mart (I know Helo, sucky Wal-Mart

), for a whole lot less the "WWII - The Complete History" Special 60th Anniversary Collection Edition. It features 30-hours of documentary footage over 10 DVDs.
"Now these images have been brought together in one of the most powerful documentary series on the 20th century's greatest conflict. This is the complete Second World War from the islands of the Pacific to the frozen Steppes of Russia. From the rise of Hilter to the celebration of VJ day, you will learn about the hardware, the heroes and the heartbreak of war. This is a must-have for those who lived it and for those who want to remember the sacrifices made during WWII."
Anyone else have this collection?

And it was only @$38 Canadian (that's like $0.02 American probably

). The Band of Brothers collection was around $89 up here in the North.

Christmas is coming though.
-----
So far I have seen a segment on American aircraft at the beginning of the war - P-40, P-38, Jug and the Mustang. Closed your ears Snoop - concerning the Mustang the Americans were not happy with it at all. A bunch were shipped to the British who were making modifications to it. As for the Americans, they decided it was only good for low-level recon patrols.

Obviously they improved her later on (only to be PORKED by Oleg years later

).

During a segment on American bomber nose art the comment from Brits concerning their American counterparts was that they were "over-paid, over-sexed, and over-here."

Those crazy Brits.
The "over-sexed" comment was due to the fact that 99.9% of nose art featured a naked babe.
Up to April 1943 and starting Disc 4 maybe tomorrow.

other definition of "porked".

Just in case...

...he forgot:
Porked: (porkd) From the Spanish "puerco" (swine) 1. To be made into the flesh of swine (often considered a "miracle", depending on circumstance or religious affilitiation); 2. To be filled with the flesh of swine, generally through over-indulgence or force-feeding (often considered a "miracle", depending on circumstance or religious affiliation); 3. Raped by a swine (often considered a miracle ,depending on religious preference or squad affiliation).

4. To be the target of thrown swine flesh (either raw or cooked, as suits the porkers) due to a conviction in a strange Court of Law. The convicted, according to legend, once "porked", becomes pork him- or her-self, and is accorded the privilege of performing any of the previous definitions with or without aplomb.
Our world just got smaller.
(Odd. Couldn't find a thing about it in my copies of Webster's New World, or Oxford Dictionaries.
