Computer game design

this is probably silly but do any of you know what kind of things i need to do to be a computer game designer , i know there is no direct route into it , i quess it involves computer programeing and then getting noticed .. ??? ??? ??? , im so confused , not a clue what to do for GCSE's

ah GCSE's all i can say is you have to work HAVE to
I spent many weeks with an after school tutor for maths to just scrape the grade i wanted
Pick things you'll enjoy, ask ppl who have just done the subjects ur interested in for advice, i did geography and business studies :)

Well, most of the people who I know who actually did it.....Well they had bachelors of computer science.
Not to be discouraging, but they were working for a quite prominent games company, that went through more than a few transfers of ownership, and it was a big headache.
I'd get the degree and go work for something more reputable, like network and word processing software companies. The games industry is pretty volitile.

yeah but its what i want to do , but i do other GCSE's so i have a wide range of subjects , ive done multiple chice GCSE's already in year 9 , i got a A and A*

I only got myself 3 A's lol
not doing so hot at A level, wont be around as much as I have been knuckling down is in order
