I'm sorry to hear that Cider :(

I know how it is to be part of a small company that all of a sudden gets purchased by a bigger one.

...sympathize with you, Cider, there are ways to merge with the Collective and impress the new bosses:

1. Always wear the same "Back in Black" tee-shirt or tank-top.

2. Ask for a shorter work week for double-salary.

3. Look at the photo of his wife and ask "Who's the bitch?"

4. Tell anecdotes such as "250 million IT guys walk into a bar and order a beer..."

There's more, but then Id be giving it all away. :)
...and wear your feckin' mask!!!!! :x

thank you for kind words, mates!

during the last years me and my workmates KNEW we are blessed and sooner or later the wrath of some big company will come over us.
we worked really hard BUT in a environment we literally created ourself.
we met and suceeded the goals of our boss and satisfied our customers
AND had fun doing so.

now the future consist of "staff-meetings" and "weekly jour-fixes".
damn, we had our best ideas at a few beers after worktime!

i think i'll try some of your recomendations, dan. they really sound FUNNY  . have to dig out my old zappa-tshirt (the famous zappa-on-the-toilet-shot   ). at least we'd have a good laugh......

anyway, hope to meet you online sunday, in the friendly skies of HL!

yes, this is sad indeed. it's all about the money these days... THEIR money! THEY can't get enough of it. you take one of those Super COs making 1.5 to 5.5 million dollars a year... with two company cars, stock options out the yazoo, full insurance, under-the-table money, company credit card, fully paid expenses, three different retirement plans, ECT... and STILL, its all about how much MORE money he can make!

not so much as how smoothly the company itself runs, how happy the customers and or especially the gifted employees are... bottomline is HIS money...and how much more of it HE can get.

like the old saying goes (was it Irish?) the more you get---the more you want!

:(

Well yes and no...

Mourning would be more accurate ;)

As in drinking one's self to death so that others may sauce-up at the wake

It's kinda like transubstantiation but with beer and chips.

Especally next week!!!
