A good time was had by all!

The "Hells Gagets" were a great bunch o'boyos ...

we outnumbered them all of the time

and we never did worse than second place!

Thanks Yeoman, Scorpion and all!

Just a quick thanks to the FI's.....really enjoyed last nights scrap and would be honoured to attend a rematch in the future. Excellent fun, even though I ran out of clean underwear by the end of the games!

Thanks for hosting, honorable foes.

It was a great match, the AWEUO 2.0 is really nice thingy.

I did better than usual... Thanks for running in front of my bullets.

^:)

Both sides had good teamwork, though I'm sure that some of you FI's weren't TS'ed like I... In other words, I had to type everything...

PS I think we won, not you.

OK I'll stop talkin'

I think it was a measure of fun and learning experience rather than actual team-based competition - at times it seemed to be more about individuals than coordinated groups - but competition there'll be in the future!

Since the match we've been making changes to the server so that it can handle more people more efficiently and effectively, keeping everybody's ping down and generally allowing for a level playing field should we choose to get a bit (and only a bit!) more formal in the future.

We're in the process of creating a competition-type server configuration that will allow for a series of matches, maps, gametypes and rules to be programmed in advance based on mutual agreement, with features such as statistics logs, games that only begin when the teams are evenly balanced, and a scoring system that rewards coordinated team play as opposed to a whole team of snipers or ten machine-gunners that get fifty kills at the expense of fifty deaths (as happened on occasion last night). In this way people who are primarily concerned with having a good time will have a better time, and people who are primarily concerned with winning will be able to quote a wealth of official statistics in order to feel better about their virtual selves ;)

But of course the whole point of the thing is to have fun and in that respect the match was a resounding success. Here's to many more bloody/enjoyable encounters in the future...

Great!, I'm glad everyone enjoyed it... Let's do it again real soon, this time I'll stay the whole time and not go out and get totally waisted with :FI:LT or anyone for that matter  . Let's chock that last match up as a good time. there where no winners or lossers, just people learning and having fun.
Thaniks H.G's for being great players you have our respect and honor.
