Duxford 2005...

Post by :FI:Cider » Fri Jan 28, 2005 10:15 am

i know it's a bit early but i'd like to get my travelling planned now so i have enough time to change it till i'm completely confused :D :D .

until now i have figured out how to get there (i will take the ferry from cuxhaven to harwich because i NEVER had a seatravel before) and also made up some kind of schedule for the trip. as i`ve never been to england before too i will arrive on thursday 7th and doing some sightseeing in the area.

the question left is about accomodation. is some of you brit guys familiar with the place? any hotels/b&b-facilities favoured? or should i take my tent with me? :D

btw, it seems the flying legends will be a meeting point for other simmers too. some guys of the CWOS plan to get to duxford and at simhq i read about a similar idea...

looking forward to meet you guys and to see some of the old warbirds!

S!

My plan

Post by :FI:Genosse » Fri Jan 28, 2005 11:33 am

Cider, this sounds like an interesting idea ... how much does the ferry from Cuxhaven to Harwich cost? Dutch and I planned to get over the Channel from Calais to Dover ... depending on the ferry company we´ve to pay for my VW-Bus and four persons about 150 Euros if I´m right ... I´m going to visit Dutch on Thursday 7th, 2005 in Hoorn nearby Amsterdam and the next morning we´ll departure to Calais ...

If everything will work as planned I´m going to spent the nights in my VW on Gurberly´s drive way then ...

If there´re already so many people like to visit the Flying Legends what about purchasing some tickets now before they´ll be sold out??? Could anyone of our British mates do this for us? I´d immediately send him the money for it ... for my tickets only, of course ... ;)

BTW, have I already told you to pack some boxes of German beer in my van?

England! Here we come! :D :sheep: \:D/ :wink2:

weeeell the ferry from cuxhaven to harwich costs (for 1 person, accomodated in a pullman chair) 56 eurillos.

more info about ferrying (and ferrets) at http://www.aferry.de

and if someone is buying tickets for the airshow in advance: count me in!
