Fighting Irish Forums

Guys,
The new (2nd) edition of TAW began on 7/10. Several of us flew some sorties in this event during its last run and had some good times. The =LG= squad guys are doing a great job with it & I think it's going to continue to improve. I'll be flying it when I can & thought it could use a thread here since I imagine at least 4 of us will participate.

I just finished setting up our squad on the TAW web site. To join up & get going, do th3 3 steps below BEFORE you enter the TAW server for the 1st time within the game:
1) Go to the TAW web site: http://taw.stg2.de/index.php (Go ahead & bookmark - you'll be back frequently!)
2) Click "Register an Account" at upper right
IMPORTANT Put your pilot name in the 1st field, exactly as it is in BOS (For me: =FI=Blue2 ...probably looks very similar for most of you, but make sure)
Enter password of your choosing in the 2nd field.
Enter your email address (optional), choose "Allies" and complete your registration.
3) Once this is done, PM me here or via the BOS forums - I have to add you to the squadron, since I was the one who set it up for us. Then you're all set.

NOTE: If you have already entered the TAW server within the game (during the current session of TAW), the site will have already auto-registered your pilot name, and auto-created a web site password for you also. In that case you will need to PM the admins via hte BOS forums to get your password & log in. (Right now it doesn't look like anyone has done this, when I view the list of registered pilots, so this is 'just in case.')

For some reason I can't find the link/possibilty to join the =FI= squad on this website. Is there some kind of special spell I should cast in order to do so?

You're right, Frank. I figured out that since I set up our squadron on the TAW site, apparently I have to add people to it.

You've now been added, and I also edited my original post up top here.
There is only one thing I'm not certain about. If somebody registers on TAW, then flies on the BOS TAW server before I've added them to the squad on the TAW website, I don't know how the site treats their stats. I know it will record their stats, but I don't know if stats for missions flown before they are added to the squad will be "combined" with other squad stats once they have been added. This is pretty insignificant though, and otherwise I think we're are good to go.

I didn't get to play any today, but have definite plans to spend some time there tomorrow afternoon. Hope you can fit some in soon, but I'm sure you guys are generally a little distracted by the nice summer weather right now - I hope so at least. It will be 100°F tomorrow here, so I won't be doing much outside tomorrow unless it involves a swimming pool!

Chaps, looking at the Squads page I noticed we have two squads, one called Fighting Irish and the other Fighting Irish Squadron, seems myself and Aaron are in one and Frank and Larry in the other.

I don't know... doesn't make any difference to me which one we keep.
I started the one with the longer name. I knew Aaron had signed us up on the forum registration thread, but when I went to their web site I didn't see our squad's name, so I started a new one. I must have just overlooked it.

I have removed Genosse from "Fighting Irish Squadron" (Take THAT, Frank! ), and now I can just PM the admins and ask them to delete that version. I've seen others do that in the forums.
Then we just need whichever one of you created it to add Frank and I to "Fighting Irish". (You can add Frank now. I'll let you know when they tell me the other version is gone, and I'm a 'free agent' once more.)

I haven't flown but one day in TAW this time around... been busy lately. Thanks for pointing it out Vin!

As for the "2 squadrons on TAW" dilemma, =LG=Kathon has taken care of the last steps on that for us. "Fighting Irish" squad now has 4 members, yours truly included thanks to his help.
Now if I can only find some time to fly some BOS again!!
