We stay away from 'canned' foods as much as possible. We buy beans and peas wholesale at the market. You have to soak them to get all that gas out. I left some red beans soaking overnight and the next morning it fermented. But Willie you wife is right it smells awful like rotten socks.

But Mac let me torture you some more- sent the wifey out to get some Geera Pork, Black Pudding, Hops bread and chicken foot souse and some Rolaids. I was just to damn lazy to roll off the bed today.

I always buy dried beans...

Post by :FI:Fenian » Fri May 11, 2007 8:01 pm

We do several pots at once and then freeze them real handy like for impromtu chillis etc. ;)

Soya beans are my favourite. As a veggie I was AMAZED at the amount of energy they gave me.... now I know why farmer feed cattle soya beans.... I just cut the cattle bit out. I make slightly less methane than a cow, so I'm doing my own wee bit to reduce greenhouse smelly gases

Being a lifelong carnivore I was given soya chunks once. It looked like mutton and surprisingly tastes good. Vegans use that instead of meat. However, I always love fish- Kingfish and shark are my faves!! :)
