Woa woa woa. Are you guys actually adjusting more than throttle and WEP when you're flying? I had the props set to auto, and have been controlling speed with the throttle and altitude changes mostly.

Also, I have a stick with a 3d rotation, so my rudders are pretty coarse. I have a set of driving pedals. Is it possible to use them as rudders?

How many controls are you using regularly in the cockpit?

I've converted a set of MadCat pedals and grafted the wire to roll axis of a Phantom 2 Gameport stick. Racing pedals have 2 pots in them so they need to be wired in series.

The extra stick gives me Pitch (on Throttle) , elevator trim( Phantom has Trim wheel), and bombsight controls on hat and 4 buttons.

Main stick is an Evo.

Thank you Gurke,

My mom and dad decided to cut my jib when I was born.

It's supposed to be more hygenic ...

I guess.

Cool. I got my wheel pedals to work as rudders :D

Nice that IL-2 supports multiple joysticks right out of the box, so I don't have to do sneaky russianesque wiring.

They aren't symmetric, but at least they give more precise control than my joystick swivel.
