Vista kaput?

Post by AltarBoy » Fri Dec 14, 2007 1:41 pm

I noticed that Microsoft had brought out Windows XP Pro 64-bit some time ago. Is it that Vista is sinking fast? The reason I never did install Vista on my system was for the compatibilty issues, but if I install Windows XP 64 will it have the same problems with 32-bit type software?

Oh, it will be far worse mate!

A friend of my dad who has worked in ICT for all his life and thus knows a lot about computers (I always call him when I have a problem) installed XP64 on a new system. He had to deal with a lot of driver conflicts and one time he even had a problem with a USB stick... He put it in and the monitor went out!! :?

Stay far away from 64 bit stuff until the software market is ready. Give 'em 3 more years or so...

So in case of switching to Vista...stick to the 32 bit version?

I would recommend a trial first.

A lot of Software doesnt work on Vista that did in XP.

It´s good Freeware I used, Games and other one. Drivers wasnt the bggest problem. Only my USB Modem wasn´t running on Vista, but thats an old one from 2001.
Check out the software you really want to or must run on Vista before you switch the OS.

If you want to test a trial version, PM me ;)
