TrackIR and rear view

Post by :FI:Genosse » Thu Jan 20, 2005 6:06 pm

Folks!

For those of you who can call a TrackIR device his own there´s a way to get an almost complete 360° view in a e.g. Yak3 ... all you need to do is to change some values in the Windows registry ...

Notice: be careful what you do there ... I won´t be responsible for any kind of PC crashes, HDD errors, nukes on Japan, Sauerkraut, ... !
here is a eay fix for this now I just tested it.

Shut down the TIR program and go into your registry, look for

TrackIR root key location will be found under :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NaturalPoint\NaturalPoint

The key name will be the version of the trackir
software, for instance "V3.10 GX" for 3.10

Then scroll down and change the 1 to 2 like it says below

* TrackIR Enhanced View Range Limiting override
Added : 2.11
registry key name : "ViewLimiting"
registry key values : "1" = normal (restricted to "realistic" ranges)
"2" = open (larger range of motion)
Source: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s ... #831108735" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Maybe this has already been posted ... in this case: move along and don´t loiter here!!!

Cheers!

If you are using Tir3 and the latest software, you won't be able to do this. There are no such registry entries to edit. However, you won't have to do the edit to get as full a view as is available to someone using mouseview, it's already enabled in the new software.

I'm such a rotten cheater! :( No, wait, I believe this edit puts TIR users in the same "boat" as those who use a mouse. All is well again! :D

Thanks for the post mate. Now the real cheat with TIR is . . . . . ;)
