Beau Mart!

Post by :FI:Falcon » Mon Nov 01, 2004 8:10 pm

Here is a gaggle of beaus for you. If you want one of these, another historical scheme, one with custom colors taken from the RAF color charts or one from your own demented imaginations, then maybe these will help you choose.*

enjoy!

Image

a - The first aircraft is a Mk.X from 236 Sq. It is in Coastal Command colors of Dk Sea Grey (or Ocean Grey) over sky. It also has D-day stripes which are included in the sheet.

b - US Beau VIF from 416 NFS. This one is a very simple scheme and only has insignia, serial and aircraft number. While most of the 416ths Beaus had a long nose encapsulating a more modern radar, several had the older style with exposed antennas.

c - A Mk XXI from 22 Sq RAAF is the next one. Like most Aussie Beaus, this one is overall Foliage Green and only has a name to distinguish it from others.

d - A Battle of Britain Mk.I of 25 Sq is the next subject with standard Dk Green/Dk Earth over Sky color scheme.

e - Another MkXXI from 31 Sq RAAF is the next subject. It is also pretty standard but has white thermal paint on the exhaust, a rather unusual item.

f - a 604 Sq Mk VIF with the longer nose for the newer radar. This aircraft has no underwing roundels.

g - 32nd sq RAAF '44

h - 22nd sq RAAF '45

i - 30th sq RAAF target tow

j - 418th sq USAAF night fighter

k - an Aussie Mk 21 in overall Foliage Green. It has an interesting tail artwork that many Beaus sported while in RAAF service.

l - another RAAF Beaufighter in a mixture of Foliage Green/Dark Earth over Pale Grey.

m - From 254 Sq RAF, comes this TF.X with all the late Beau mods, including the dorsal fin fillet and long nosed radar installation. It is in typical coastal command colors of Extra Dark Sea Grey over Sky.

n - This 455 Sq Beau is in the same colors as the previous aircraft, but has included the black and white D-Day stripes.

o - 604th sq RAF '43

p - 456th sq '42

q - 307th sq RAF Polish ace Ranoszek '42

r - 272nd RAF Malta '42

s - 252nd RAF Coastal Command '41

t - unknown
