Hello

Post by Bauer » Thu Mar 09, 2006 7:57 am

Hello everyone!

I recently picked up a copy of FB/PF after a long hiatus from combat flight sims and am absolutely loving it. I'm not much more than a big target online right now, but easy games are no fun. I found a link to your site on the ubi.com forums and, as a forum junky, must say this is definitely one of the most interesting and entertaining corners of the internet. As a fan of both IL2 and a cold Irish stout, I feel like this is the place to be :)

Anyway, just thought I would introduce myself. I'm finishing up college in the US, so I don't have an abundance of time to spend flying online, but I hope to get a chance to fly with some of you on Hyperlobby.

-Tom aka "Bauer"

Cheers!

Usually we gather together on the weekends - TacticalS! hosts his Historic Encounters sessions and we all on Sunday afternoons your time - but you might find some chaps with the :FI: prefix within the week there.

If you should have troubles to join the :FI: servers due to password protection just send one of our chaps a PM and ask for it. If you should use Teamspeak don´t hesitate to ask them for our server´s PW too ...

Hope to cya later in the virtual blue ...

This round is on you, Tom!

Actually, Bauer isn't my real name, I used "Jack Bauer" for Day of Defeat after the first season of 24 started and it just kind of stuck. Now, I considered registering under my actual name, which is Potter. However, seeing as Teamspeak is so important, and many of you are from the UK, I decided that Bauer might be a more tolerable callsign ;)

Hey look at me! I'm a Cowboy! Howdy! Howdy!

You'll need to get set up with HyperLobby and Teamspeak, fer sure, and we strongly recommend spending your remaining Student Loan $$$ on TrackIR. :D

But before that be sure to patch up to v4.04m (merged) so ye can join us Sundays or Fridays.

But before that be sure to patch up to v4.03m (merged) so ye can join us Sundays or Fridays.

But before that be sure to patch up to v4.02m (merged) so ye can join us Sundays or Fridays.

But before that be sure to patch up to v3.03m (merged) so ye can join us Sundays or Fridays.

But before that be sure you have the Aces Expansion Pack and Pacific Fighters add-ons so ye can join us Sundays or Fridays.

Cya then, bucko!

Unless, of course, you already have all the various patches, upgrades, and any other acoutrements of the milieu.

In that case, PM me and I'll get ye the required TS Info and you can join us at 9.00pm Eastern in Hyperlobby for another exciting episode of "Historic Encounters" :D

Last week was great! We flew in beautiful formation all the way to New York! We would have landed as a finely tuned unit, but there was this big (REALLY BIIIIIIG!) gorilla hanging on the Empire State Building swatting at us as we offered him chocolates.

What an ingrate!

My TIR4 should be arriving tomorrow. I justified the expense by not buying one of the more expensive textbooks this semester- time will tell which would have been the wiser investment. I'll try to get on for Historic Encounters or some random Hyperlobby action this week, but I need to grind out some work before Spring Break starts.
