Can't get on google using Firefox

Don't know how this happened but whenever I try to log on to google via Firefox I keep getting a connection error. I had to resort to IE to get online. Anybody know how to reset this to normal?

I don't normally answer these types of things when I can't help. But I'm using firefox (1.5.???) and I'm able to hit google.

Is there a preference setting, or addon/tool, that you changed recently? I'm sorry that I'm not much help, but there are so many different things that can change from FF setup to the next it's not easily troubleshot.

I just found out what happened. One of Windows updates removes Firefox and makes IE the default browser. Those 12-year-lod idiots Microsoft has for programmers would do something like that. I'm going to try to reinstall Firefox 2 again. Linux here I come!

Ok. Did some more snooping around and found out that something changed my firewall settings that blocked connections using Firefox. It's back to normal now.
