ArmA obligatory mods discoussion

Post by :FI:Macca » Wed May 16, 2007 5:11 pm

guys, post here links and descriptions of mods that we all should be using to remain compatibile witch each other and missions made by our great mission designers.

Keeping all the mods in one thread should help making this as simple as possible.

Good idea Macca, first off you will need the dry southern Sahrani map 1.1, and that is that for the moment, obviously the latest patch as well.

If I may suggest - let's clear this thread and make a sticky and maybe locked one which will be updated reguralry - with currently needed mods and links to them. It will keep things clear and easy to follow for everyone. Like the first post in the Lock on abusers thread in the Squadron

Should we not clarify what is actually required, rather than the " I have this mod, and you need it before you can join my coops".

nah!
just make a game, everyone has to get as many mods as one can, in theory since both the number of mods and sources are limited it would end up we have the same mods, to make the game totally unusable and unable to play with others, first one who reaches that wins.

less mods, means more time spent on playing not looking for it or downloading,
keep it tight, please

We should go ( in my opinion) for the mods which improve game performance first. If we want to add some units or such - cool, but performance first. The grasless map is good example. Is there anything else which improves fps?

This is whats in my Addons folder....Image

This is what myself and Greg have been basing our missions on, we have come across a lot of conflicts when trying stuff online, and the problem seems to be the conflicts between addons.
We need to get together and discuss what we want and dont want, the above image is just to get the topic started.

We have now settled on the mods that we think are the best for us.

This is a self extractor, its the ECS mod.

This is a patch for the ECS mod, extract the two files called ECS_Core.pbo and ECS_Core.pbo.ecs.bisign, into your //arma/ECS/addons folder.

This is the weapons pack we use, extract the file FRAN.bikey into your //arma/keys folder then extract the FOUR other files into your //arma/ECS/addons folder and your //arma/addons folder.

Vin

Could you or Greg stick the links for the two mods we discussed last night on here so I can set my two mates up with them.

Cheers

Ok Kev, here we go...........

first one

second one

Download both, look in the two of them and extract the following files to the \\Arma\Addons folder

acusf.pbo
sf_det_alpha_acu_repl.pbo
sf_det_alpha_acu_repl.pbo.sf_det_alpha.bisign
sf_scar.pbo
sf_scar.pbo.sf_det_alpha.bisign
nwd_scopefix.pbo

and place the file "sf_det_alpha.bikey" in the \\Arma\Keys folder.

Thats that, hopefully :)
