Flying the Spitfiew MkIX? Speaking for myself why not!?! :)
SYN_Skydance wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 10:12 pmI think we will do these single coop missions for the next few week and then, when ready, we could do to a few missions, linked together. Maybe when the Hurricane comes along. We normally fly a 10 mission campaign.

If you have any ideas that you'd like to add or anything that you'd like to try just post it here and I'll pass it on to Vander. We are always looking for new ideas.

Just as an example.....

Last month, during a campaign, I got shot down on a sortie over enermy lines, and needed to be rescued. The following week we had a single A-20b that was sent out to pick me up. It was escorted by P47s. The A-20b had to land on a field, come to a stop (whilst I climbed on Board) and then take off again, before returning home. The job of the P47s was not only to escorts the A-20b but they also had to take out the hostile fire, by strafing the energy guns, that surrounded the field, before the A-20b could land. It was a very enjoyable mission.
As said before I like the idea of single COOP mission campaign. And if Vander's willing to spice them up it might be much more appealing to all of us. Let's see what's going to happen!

See you on next Sunday, Gary!

I hope we'll get more peeps together for next session though ...

No problems

We had three that couldn’t make it, last Sunday, so our numbers were also low. We didn’t fly a coop last week so we can still do the Spit and A20 planned mission this Sunday.

This time we're planing to show up with at least four FI squaddies. If everything works out as it's been planned though ...

Sorry but Vander can't make it tonight so he won't be hosting coop mission. We will still have a handful of pilots flying in Combat Box so any of you that can make it are quite welcome to join us on Discord. After flying we will have an hour or so on Hell Let Loose.

No problem Skydance.
Just wanted to chime in & say that I really enjoyed the mission 2 weeks ago also. Great fun, and really appreciate the invitation, Vander's mission & hosting, and the patience of the Syndicate guys. Most of us are no longer flying too many hours each week for a variety of reasons, so our lack of skills really shows compared with years past. I demonstrated that even before Frank did, in much the same way (too much dive speed & angle while bombing; pulled too hard ripping off a wing). But, we all really enjoyed it. I thought the settings last time were about what we need - somewhat challenging for our current squad skill level, which 'pushes' us to wipe away some cobwebs while flying a mission that isn't likely to see us killed off quickly. Looking forward to the next one! :D

Meanwhile this change of plans gives me an excuse to try and get the new radio app working, and perhaps join the fun on Combat Box.

Yeah. We've had two enjoyable missions so far.

Just to let you know what's in the pipeline. The Hurricane shall be with us soon and we will be doing a 10 mission campaign. Skins can be updated will kill markers as the campaign progresses with a final souvaneir skin at the end.

I'll keep you posted with any updates.

I may pick this up, Gary, and tell the boys that this campaign is due to start on next Sunday as far as I know. So if you want to particitpate on it just drop a note here so we can count the Spitfire Mk Vb seats for the first mission to come ...

I'm in. ;)

I will be there! I know Heloego is also planning on it. Should be great fun again!

The souvenier skins sound very cool. We should spread the word about that, Frank. The boys will like it.

Folks,

I've received an e-mail by SYN_Skydance today containing following lines:
Hi Frank

Next week we are going to do a few sorties on the TAW server. We have registered and created a squad. You can register here: https://taw.stg2.de

That will give Vander time to write the campaign and for you and I to create the skins.

We already had the Russian Syndicate Hurricane skins and I have finished the Russian Syndicate IL2 (1942 version) skins tonight.

The links for these skins can be found below.

Hurricane: [ presented in the related forum on this board by me ]

IL2: [ presented in the related forum on this board by me ]

The two other planes in the campaign will be JU87 Stuka and the 109 F4.

The campaign will take place starting in August 1942.

I'll email the links to the German skins when I've done them.

If you have links to the =FI= summer 1942 skins for the following planes, then I can post them on Discord;

Hurricane
IL2 1942
JU87
Bf109 F4

Regards

Gary
AKA Skydance

Hi Folks

I've updated the SYN Hurricane skins after the first mission with "Kill Markers"

Hurri Green/Brown skin
https://app.box.com/s/30xclf7taok8kn9thay4nn47t5tt78k3

Hurri Grey Skin
https://app.box.com/s/qnjswzojb85omg1838cbq043u2psr9zw

You might already have the skins below, but I'll post them here for an easy to find spot

IL2 M2
https://app.box.com/s/esfv04qn4fn5e5m9r3lmiz94xpsv5it6

Bf109 F4
https://app.box.com/s/pp84hfk5gywfkh5kiphaz1jax7i0jl57

JU87
https://app.box.com/s/9y1krmj1ruyt1y25v4wdrtjfri1p1uxh

So, as far as I can gather, this Sunday (Mission 2) "The Syndicate" will be attacking in IL2s, escorted by Hurricanes. The "Fighting Irish" will be defending in Bf109 F4s. Missions 3 and 4 will be the same as missions 1 and 2 but we will be switching sides where SYN will fly axis and =FI= will fly allies.

Again, I think Vander is going to set a time limit (I think it was 1 hour time last time) to achieve/defend objectives.
