Re: The ongoing JG42 war

In past wars it was ruled out because of the progressively bad feelings between teams it generated. Some fighter squads did little else than sit out of range of base flak and wait for landing planes at the end of the mission. Forums then filled with hate. This is a war simulation I know but allowing...

Re: Energy Management?

You will have seen and used it before. The thread is about fighting in the vertical rather than horizontal. The manuever is a shallow hammerhead in effect. You are heading N, put your nose in the air near the top you roll over using aileron and rudder and as the plane decends nose down roll to point...

Re: Energy Management?

Hi Mike. This is one cadaver of a thread you resurrected! I don't have that tape anymore that is for sure. I'll try it again and send a tape to you. I was probably better at the game then, certainly more practised but it will be fun to try again. If I recall right I was trying to see if I could stay...

Re: the plan ,Gawd luv us

If yer definite about going SLI Dec you shouldn't have to worry about the cards ram as you will have 2GB with 2x 1GB cards and that will be more plenty even for CloD. What I mean is I wouldn't get an inferior card to the 560ti just for the Vram that it has, particularly if as you say it's a similar ...

Re: the plan ,Gawd luv us

Cards have varying sized coolers. Most are two slots deep i.e plugging into one and the cooler covering the slot below. However some are 2 1/2 and 3 slots deep which depending on your motherboard can make SLI/crossfire impossible or at least bad for overheating as the cards get too hot being so clos...

Re: the plan ,Gawd luv us

Well I guess the three dimms would work on a 1155 board but 1 pair would be in dual channel the other on its own, that's not optimising the memory slots. The I7 1366 board you were getting before runs triple channel memory slots(the dimm sockets come in 2 groups of three, that set is designed for th...

Re: the plan ,Gawd luv us

Dec you might want to look into the depth of that palit card if you are thinking of using multiple cards in the future. I see you are getting an expensive 3 socket board so presume you are. I'm sure two cards would fit but the palit looks about 2 and a half sockets deep not 2. Read about someone hav...

Re: the plan ,Gawd luv us

Trust Kev he's an IT pro as is Mike who would say the same I'm sure. Even price makes no case for the older cpu, where I'm looking (Scan computers) your 960 is £218 the I5 2500K is £160. The second is faster and way moreso when overclocked. The 260K has jumped in price however but it uses hyperthrea...

Re: the plan ,Gawd luv us

Dec why the older generation CPU? The Sandybridge are the ones to go for speed wise for gaming atm . The I5 2500K is about £170 the I7 2600K about £40 more. Super- fast anyway, overclock like mad , run not too hot and don't need as much juice. Mikester has a 3.4 ghz 2600 @4.5Ghz, I have the 3.3Ghz 2...

Re: New GPU- GTX570 ?

Should be Dan. They own Gainward and use a lot of similar parts on both makes of card, heatsinks etc. However maybe in the States they just sell the better known Gainward.

Re: New GPU- GTX570 ?

Murph if CloD is on the cards for you then consider getting a 2Gb Vram Gtx 560ti. http://skinflint.co.uk/redir.cgi?h=ksn-uk&loc=http:%2F%2Fwww.ksn%2Donline.co.uk%2Fcomponents%2Dvideo%2Dcards%2Dpalit%2D2gb%2Dgef%2Dgtx%2D560%2Dpci%2Dp%2D9660.html&key=f2fdad02ee4d1d699d7c4d57b42ea663 If it's av...

My rubber band is as tight as a spivs tie knot thank you. A camel may not be able to pass through the eye of a needle but the putrified broth in my bowels could.
